The Sims 4’s iconic vibrating heart bed is back in Lovestruck expansion

As a long-time Sims player with fond memories of creating and managing virtual lives since the early 2000s, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia whenever I come across references to iconic in-game items like the Vibromatic Heart Bed. This bed holds a special place in The Sims franchise history, having been first introduced in “Livin’ Large” expansion for The Sims back in 2000.

In the year 2000, The Sims game released its Livin’ Large expansion, marking a significant milestone as it was the initial occasion for a Sim to engage in romantic activities within the game – long before the term “WooHoo” emerged with The Sims 2.

It was available for §4,500 in The Sims’ Buy Mode. Here’s how it was described:

“Sadie S. Factor, the inventor, shares, ‘The heart-vibrating bed we designed for honeymoon motels drew such immense interest that we chose to offer it to the general public.’ The engine powering the vibrations is Swedish in origin, but we’ve conducted extensive tests with 300-pound dummies to fortify the springs, mend the stitching, and secure a gentle back-and-forth motion akin to waves. Included with your purchase are purple silk sheets and a coordinating pillow ensemble.”

In The Sims 2: Apartment Life expansion, there was an introduction of a more romantic and heart-shaped Double Bed called “The More Romantic Than You.” With The Sims 3: High-End Loft Stuff, the Vibromatic LN3000 bed was included. However, this particular bed has been absent in The Sims 4. As a substitute last year, Maxis added the Disassembled Heart Bed for §3,100. For that price, you could place a dirty mattress against the wall and stack the iconic heart headboard behind it.

After more than 20 years, this vintage Vibromatic machine still manages to evoke a playful, flirtatious feeling as you reminisce about the past when life was grand. Its rich history is apparent, yet it continues to move and perhaps even the vibration motor could function again someday. This treasured item holds a significant place in our hearts and we find it hard to let go.

As a fan, I’d say: Make your heartbreaks more manageable with The Heartbreak Happens Digital Content by your side! Snuggle up with the Herbert Heart Plushie and Basic Breakup Double Bed, and add a touch of “Cry Me a River” Eyeliner for good measure. Don’t miss out on grabbing The Sims 4 #Lovestruck Expansion Pack before September 5th!

In The Sims 4’s Lovestruck expansion, I’m thrilled to report that my beloved bed is back and ready for use once again! Previously known as the iconic bed, it now goes by the name Vibromatic Nuevo. And guess what? It costs a cool §4,500. So, if you’ve got some Simoleans burning a hole in your pocket, go ahead and add this vibrant and stylish piece of furniture to your game!

The Vibromatic bed, similar to the Art Nouveau style, has been given a contemporary makeover with a touch of modern romance. Retaining its traditional vibration feature and illuminated headboard, this bed exudes playfulness and allure.

If you’re not in search of romantic affection, then this may not appeal to you. Introducing the antithesis of the heart-bed in “The Sims 4: Lovestruck,” the unkempt Basic Breakup Double Bed. Its bare mattress and untidy linens suggest a lengthy solo slumber ahead.
