Although Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban seem to be working on separating after nearly two decades of marriage, many fans are still analyzing what went wrong in their relationship.
According to one online personality, the country music singer, age 57, has always felt insecure around the 58-year-old actor, and they believe his shoe choices demonstrate this.
Last week, TikTok creator Kiera Breaugh posted a video noticing that Keith often wore platform shoes, seemingly to look taller beside his very tall wife.
‘You can tell everything about a short man by his shoes,’ she said.
‘Keith Urban’s insecurity in the relationship to Nicole starts from the bottom. Look at his shoes.’
Kiera then shared a photo of the former couple cuddled up on a red carpet together.
Nicole was still a bit taller, but Keith tried to appear the same height by wearing black platform shoes.
Kiera pointed out that even a star like Nicole Kidman isn’t immune to the common trope of a shorter, less accomplished man feeling envious of a taller, more successful woman.
She also noted that Keith often avoided mentioning Nicole in interviews, even though the actress consistently spoke highly of her husband.
She explained that he feels like interviewers only ask him questions about Nicole, which is understandable given their history. She also mentioned that simply hearing her name mentioned in interviews upsets him.

Last September, he reportedly became noticeably reserved whenever his wife was brought up during an interview with The Times.
The Grammy-winning artist explained he didn’t want to make his wife, Nicole, the focus of news stories, especially when talking about how she helped him overcome his past struggles with addiction.
Nicole frequently spoke well of Keith in interviews. In 2009, she told Access Hollywood that she hoped to spend the rest of her life with him.
She also told Ellen DeGeneres in 2017 she ‘had such a crush on Keith’ when they first met.
According to sources who spoke with Daily Mail, Keith has begun dating a female musician whose identity hasn’t been revealed.
People are speculating that he’s become close to 25-year-old country singer Maggie Baugh, but others suggest he’s dating Kelsea Ballerini, who is 32.
