The season 2 finale of House of the Dragon is the longest-ever episode of the series
As a devoted fan of “House of the Dragon,” I’m absolutely thrilled that we’ve reached the midway point of season 2. And boy, what a ride it has been so far! The longer episodes in this season have only added to the immersive experience, allowing us to delve deeper into the complex characters and intricate storylines that make this show a must-watch.
In the second season of “House of the Dragon,” we’ve already passed the midpoint with six out of eight episodes aired. Unlike the first season which consisted of ten episodes, this one is shorter. However, each episode in season 2 tends to be longer than those in season 1.
HBO has recently released the run times for each of the eight upcoming episodes on their official schedule, indicating we are nearing the finish line. Here’s a look at the complete list:
- Episode 201, “A Son for a Son”: June 16 (1 hour, 4 minutes)
- Episode 202, “Rhaenyra the Cruel”: June 23 (1 hour, 12 minutes)
- Episode 203, “The Burning Mill”: June 30 (1 hour, 10 minutes)
- Episode 204, “The Red Dragon and the Gold”: July 7 (56 minutes)
- Episode 205, “Regent”: July 14 (1 hour, 7 minutes)
- Episode 206: July 21 (1 hour, 10 minutes)
- Episode 207: July 28 (1 hour, 7 minutes)
- Episode 208: August 4 (1 hour, 13 minutes)
As a dedicated gamer following the epic saga of “House of the Dragon” on HBO, I’ve noticed an intriguing pattern. The show has been keeping us in suspense by withholding episode titles until after their broadcasts. Up to now, we’ve missed out on labels for the last three episodes. However, we do have some information regarding the runtimes.
Why is the House of the Dragon season 2 finale so long?
That makes sense; you want the finale to be a big event, right? Of course it’s chonkier.
From my perspective as an avid fan, I must admit that the second half of this intriguing season holds many unanswered questions. Though we can make educated assumptions, the true course of events remains shrouded in mystery. Last time we tuned in, the Greens and Blacks were locked in a brutal battle for the Iron Throne. King Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) was severely wounded, and his younger brother Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) assumed the role of regent. Meanwhile, on Dragonstone, Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) and her son Jace (Harry Collett) were hatching a plan to recruit more dragonriders to their cause. We anticipate witnessing the progression of this plotline in the upcoming episodes. However, as for how this season concludes, only time will tell.
Each Sunday night, new episodes of House of the Dragon‘s second season will be unveiled for us all to discover together on HBO and Max.
