The Script’s frontman Danny O’Donoghue is engaged to girlfriend of four years Anais Niang after romantic proposal in Norway

During a breathtakingly beautiful vacation in Norway, I chose to propose to my beloved partner Anais Niang, gracefully adorned with the radiance of 30 years. The serene landscapes of this Nordic gem served as the perfect backdrop for the beginning of our forever.
17 months have passed since Mark Sheehan, a bandmate, died at the age of 46 following a sudden, unspecified illness. This left Danny feeling heartbroken.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Danny encountered Anais for the first time and decided to take her to his cherished spot, The Seven Sisters Waterfall, where he proposed by getting down on one knee.
Danny shared with The Sun that we climbed to the peak of a mountain to witness the stunning sight of The Seven Sisters waterfall, often described as the most breathtaking in the world. It’s our cherished spot on this planet.
In a rush due to fatigue, I almost collapsed while transporting all the champagne, glasses, and food, hoping she’d say ‘yes.’ I had to manage everything secretly so she wouldn’t find out.
When I felt uncertain, I could sense something was amiss, but now, beyond any doubt, I can affirm that it’s absolutely correct.
Anais is French and an events manager. She was living in London when she met Danny.
In 2021, when they made their relationship public for the first time, he mentioned: “We reside in the same neighborhood of London. Mostly, we’ve been spending our time together at home. My mother took a liking to her and frequently offered her tea.”
The band have just released their first album, Satellites, since the death of bandmate Mark.
Danny formed the successful rock band alongside Mark and drummer Glen Power in 2001.
Mark and Danny have been the closest of friends since they were 12 years old, and prior to that, they were bandmates in a group known as Mytown, which was established in 1996.
As a devoted fan, I acknowledge that it brings joy to imagine ‘The Script’ disbanding today. However, the financial well-being of Mark and his family is deeply tied to the band’s continued success. Therefore, I choose to support them, with the hope that this will provide stability for Rina and their three children in the future.
Mark left his £9.4million fortune to his family.
A three-time father and skilled guitarist resided in America alongside his spouse Rina. Tragically, he passed away at a hospital on the 14th of April, 2023, after a sudden, unspecified health issue had occurred.
‘Mark Sheehan, deeply admired as a husband, father, sibling, band member, and friend, sadly passed away today at the hospital following a quick illness.’
It continued: ‘The family and group ask fans to respect their privacy at this tragic time.’
Danny says he thinks Mark would have loved their new album and the title track.
“There was one song which he heard, which he really loved, which was the song Satellites that I know he loved. And although we didn’t work on it together, I know he loved that tune and he loved the lyric in it,’ he told the Daily Star.
