The Royal Family continues showing support forTeam Great Britain ahead of the Paralympics

As a lifelong sports enthusiast and dedicated royal watcher, I can hardly contain my excitement for this summer’s Olympic and Paralympic Games! The anticipation has been building since the European football championships and Wimbledon, and I can feel the palpable energy as we approach the August 28 Opening Ceremony.

This summer’s main motif revolves around heightened sporting passion. Every Olympic and Paralympic year brings excitement, but this time around, sports enthusiasts have been eagerly anticipating events like the European football championships and Wimbledon since before, and they will be glued to their screens until the Closing Ceremony of the Paralympics in Paris. It’s fascinating to discover that some of these sports fans carry titles such as Duke or Princess.

Before the August 28 Opening Ceremony and the initial competition days, messages from the Royal Family on their social media platforms inspired British supporters with pride.

Prince Edward, also known as the Duke of Edinburgh, consistently shows his support for a particular sports team. This is not surprising since he holds royal patronage over the British Paralympic Association. He made an appearance at the Paralympic Games in Barcelona back in 1992 and officially took on this role in 2003. His backing extends to both the athletes and the support staff, which encompasses guides, partners, and copilots. This support is greatly appreciated by the team.

Simultaneously, Prince William and Princess Kate remain popular among their fans. Watching Prince William show his enthusiasm for a football win or loss has been quite enjoyable, while tennis enthusiasts at Wimbledon were delighted to catch a glimpse of Princess Kate during the finals, even amid her cancer treatment.

They had been some of the well-known individuals who extended warm greetings on social platforms prior to the Olympics, and this practice persisted as they posted a heartfelt message on their open platform before the Paralympics commenced.

The “W&C” sign-off denotes that the message was from the Prince and Princess of Wales directly.

As reported by People magazine, besides her obvious enthusiasm, Princess Kate also actively supports athletes on a personal level. Specifically, she serves as a patron for SportsAid, an organization that assists rising athletes, some of whom participated in the Paris games, in reaching their peak.

Let’s cheer on Team ParalympicsGB as they prepare for their upcoming competitions, just like the Royal Family does!
