The Row Goes Lightfooted For Resort 2026
At this season’s Paris Fashion Week, The Row opted for an offline runway show to unveil their Resort 2026 collection. This isn’t the first time they’ve prohibited phones at a fashion show, albeit it sparked debate online in the past. Known for its commitment to minimalism, The Row’s shows during the whirlwind of Fashion Week serve as a tranquil island amidst the chaos, making their understated elegance seem like a bold counterpoint to the norm.
This season, the seating arrangement in the salon was on a first-come, first-served basis, with guests seated on sofas and late arrivals sitting cross-legged on the carpeted floor. Notably, Balenciaga followed suit this season without a predefined seating chart. However, they set aside a special area for their numerous celebrity attendees to ensure their security and comfort in the front row.
As a fashion enthusiast, I must say that this season, it wasn’t just the absence of phones that was noticeable, but also the scarcity of shoes on the runway. Models gracefully strutted, their feet adorned only with knitted socks, touching the runway floor in between. The disheveled hair and delicate textures of the ensembles created an intimate atmosphere, as if we were catching models in the act of getting dressed – akin to a dinner guest arriving 15 minutes too early.
In summary, each item exuded the classic opulence and effortless comfort that is synonymous with the brand. Nothing felt too tight or constricting; instead, oversized coats, sweaters, and dresses offered a relaxed fit while still maintaining an air of mystery with their voluminous sleeves concealing the face. The bags were relatively modest, with this season’s focus being on low-key totes rather than the statement-making Margaux bag that was popular last year.
To maintain its refined aesthetic, The Row unveiled their Resort 2026 collection only through carefully selected film photographs a couple of days following the fashion show. You can browse the entire collection in the gallery provided above.
