The Rock Looks Totally Different as UFC Legend in Shocking Smashing Machine Trailer
In a fresh trailer for his upcoming movie, The Smashing Machine, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson appeared almost unidentifiable.
In a heartwarming nod to his loyal film companion from Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, the actor is seen playing UFC legend Mark Kerr in the recently unveiled sneak peek, which was made public on Tuesday.
To portray the character resembling the ex-wrestler and mixed martial artist, aged 56, both actors donned a dark wig and underwent makeup adjustments with facial prosthetics to mirror the spitting image of Kerr’s twin.
In the opening scene, I find myself seated in a doctor’s waiting room, my eyes visibly marked by telltale welt-like marks.
He softly and calmly tells the woman, who is accompanied by a young boy, “It seems you’re gazing into my eyes.
She inquires, “So, how did that come about?” After a swift transition to intense fighting scenes within the arena, Kerr queries, “By any chance, have you ever encountered the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) before?
She replied, “That’s exactly what they want to forbid,” and continued, “No, we don’t harbor hatred towards each other during our disputes.” Johnson’s response is Kerr.
In addition to the A24 footage, Emily Blunt is depicted as Dawn, Kerr’s spouse at the time, standing by him for support. However, she frequently struggles due to Kerr’s frequent, agonizing wounds and his reliance on painkillers to cope.
