On a festive Saturday evening, Mel B commemorated her 50th birthday at a grand celebration in the city of Leeds, surrounded by her cherished companions and relatives.

However, Geri Halliwell-Horner and Victoria Beckham were conspicuously absent, as their fellow Spice Girl took to the dance floor without them.

On a special occasion, the ex-X Factor judge went above and beyond, attending with her partner Rory McPhee, as well as their children, 18-year-old Angel and 26-year-old Phoenix, in Leeds for a lavish event.

Additionally, Mel was joined by her fellow band members Melanie Chisholm (Mel C) and Emma Bunton in celebrating this significant moment. Notably, they all adopted a leopard-print motif to coordinate with Scary’s theme.

Noticeably absent during the recent reunion were Posh and Ginger, given that the entire band came together last year for Victoria’s 50th birthday celebration.

It’s been disclosed to The Sun that, despite having an unavoidable work obligation, Victoria was unable to decline; on the other hand, Geri apparently didn’t offer an explanation for declining the invitation.

Mel B and Geri have a strained or tense friendship, with an argument reportedly taking place at Victoria’s 50th birthday party in the springtime.

At a high-profile social gathering, where the Spice Girls were the main attraction, all five members attended to celebrate, yet there were reports suggesting that Mel and Geri’s initial encounter was strained.

Although I shared a cheerful photo with Victoria Beckham, Melanie C, and Emma Bunton, it appears that Melanie and Geri Halliwell may have felt some tension, as reported by The Sun.

Prior to the reunion, Mel B claimed in an interview that Geri has lied about her age for years.

A confidant disclosed to the news outlet: “At the gathering, Mel attempted to reconcile with Geri, yet things didn’t turn out as expected. Mel was chuckling it away, but Geri didn’t appear keen on listening to her and walked away instead.

In the moment they were about to snap their group photo, Geri made a conscious effort to stand at a considerable distance from Mel, making the situation somewhat uncomfortable for onlookers.

Geri wished to join in on the celebration and share a hearty chuckle with everyone, rather than discuss with Mel the awkward remarks she’s made about Geri.

Mel playfully takes another dig at her old friend by sending her a “Happy 75th Birthday” greeting in August, which appears to be a nod to her earlier jabs suggesting that Geri may have falsified her age in the past.

Last summer, I learned from reliable sources that there had been numerous hidden insults and light-hearted teases exchanged backstage, which had significantly riled up Geri.

According to the source, their connection has always been complicated, but it’s become extremely complicated now, and no one has been successful in resolving the issues between them. As a result, they’ve called it quits once more.

It’s said that a new strain developed in their friendship following Mel B’s allegation that they had an intimate relationship during their peak popularity in the ’90s, which was quite shocking.

In 2019, during a taping of Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, the openly bisexual singer casually revealed an unexpected incident. Playfully addressing Geri, she complimented her by saying, “You have fantastic breasts,” and further added, “It just occurred, we both laughed about it, and that was that.

Nevertheless, the bold assertions about their passionate encounter apparently stirred quite a commotion, as it’s been speculated that Mel panicked and urgently contacted Geri. However, Geri has refuted these allegations, stating that no such romantic liaison occurred.

Months afterward, during an appearance on Loose Women, Mel made a light-hearted remark suggesting that Geri still feels animosity towards her, following the disclosure.

Whilst she wasn’t at Saturday’s party Geri did pay tribute to Mel on her 50th on Thursday.

Posting a picture of the duo from the ’90s, Geri captioned it: ‘#Happy 50th Birthday @officialmelb! Enjoy an amazing year ahead!’
