The Real Murders on Elm Street and more true crime series coming to Investigation Discovery
As a seasoned gamer and crime enthusiast who has spent countless hours exploring digital worlds filled with mystery and intrigue, I can’t help but feel my heart racing at the lineup of upcoming true crime series on Investigation Discovery. The recent documentary “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV” was a chilling reminder of the darkness that lurks behind the scenes, and I can’t wait to delve deeper into the world of true crime with “How (Not) to Get Rid of a Body”, premiering on September 4.
After entering the streaming industry, Investigation Discovery has seen a surge in popularity. For those who can’t catch an episode when it airs on cable TV, they can stream it on Discovery+. Additionally, Hulu and Max are other platforms where one can view shows under the Discovery network umbrella.
Most recently, Investigation Discover made waves with the shocking documentary Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV. Discovery has heard us loud and clear, viewers want more true crime drama! Coming soon, ID will release The Real Murders on Elm Street, How (Not) to Get Rid of a Body, and Cabin in the Woods. All three of these true crime series will premiere in September 2024. Here’s everything we know about these true cime shows so far.
How (Not) to Get Rid of a Body, Sept. 4
What lengths will individuals who commit murder take to avoid being caught for their crimes? Tune in to the streaming service on Sept. 4 to watch How (Not) to Dispose of a Body, where each episode delves into a different mystery through testimonies, interviews, and previously unseen footage. The question remains as to whether airing these unsolved cases could lead to justice for the victims; this is what investigators and those involved in the investigation are hoping for!
The Real Murders on Elm Street, Sept. 9
In a nod to Wes Craven’s renowned horror franchise, the title isn’t the only connection between them; in fact, the events of “The Real Murders on Elm Street” do unfold on an Elm Street, or more accurately, various Elm Streets scattered across America. Each episode in this six-episode series delves into a different murder (or sequence of murders) that left an indelible mark on Elm Street forever. Catch “The Real Murders on Elm Street” starting Sept 9th.
Cabin in the Woods, Sept. 9
On September 9th, we’ll be airing “Cabin in the Woods,” a show that might bring horror movie vibes to mind. Similar to “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” this series is a tribute to the 2011 horror-comedy titled “Cabin in the Woods.” The true crime docuseries delves into crimes that occurred in isolated cabins, as reported by Deadline, which first broke the news. Furthermore, they mention that “Cabin in the Woods” incorporates investigative elements, blending true crime with a touch of horror in an unique way.
