As a longtime fan of reality television and Bravo shows in particular, I have witnessed the network’s evolution over the years with great interest. Having grown up watching mostly homogenous casts on various reality shows, it is heartening to see Bravo making a conscious effort to diversify their programming and truly represent the country’s demographics.

On Sunday, Bravo revealed the initial trailer for the upcoming 15th season of The Real Housewives of New York City, expected to air this autumn.

In this advertisement, featuring the tune “We Them Girls” by Universal Production Music (released in 2023), the entire cast strikes a captivating pose, each holding a crimson fruit that represents the iconic symbol of New York City – the Big Apple.

‘They’re back,’ the title card reads. ‘Coming soon.’

In the sneak peek, we catch a glimpse of Rachel Chevremont, the latest addition to the cast, who stepped in as a full-time housewife in June, following Lizzy Savetsky’s departure halfway through season 14 due to encountering anti-Semitic hostility.

As a mature individual who found her path later in life, I identify as a lesbian, born and raised in the Bronx, proudly nurturing a family of two wonderful children.

‘When I first came out I lost a lot of people,’ Racquel explained to GLAAD in June.

As a person who has struggled with feelings of isolation and misunderstanding due to my unique identity, I firmly believe that sharing my life experiences through various platforms can help change hearts and minds, especially within communities that may not be as exposed or accepting. My personal journey has shown me the power of representation, and I am passionate about using whatever influence I have to increase visibility for individuals like myself, because I know firsthand how impactful it can be to see someone who shares your experiences on television or in media. This show, with its massive reach, offers a rare opportunity to make a difference in countless lives, and that is something I hold dear.

In my starstruck excitement, I couldn’t help but wonder if the creators might consider me for the role, given that the talented Jenna Lyons was already part of their ensemble. After all, who knows, they might see a bit of themselves in this passionate fan!

56-year-old LoveSeen CEO, who married artist Vincent Mazeau for nine years until 2011 and had their 17-year-old son Beckett during that union, publicly acknowledged her sexuality as a lesbian in the same year due to threats from the New York Post.

Ubah Hassan showcased a bare midriff under her black jacket during the promotional event. This 40-year-old Somalian isn’t just a model; she’s also the CEO of her own hot sauce company, Ubah Hot.

In the commercial, it was Brynn Whitfield, the sole unmarried female member of the group, who donned a shimmering, silver bustier adorned with sequins.

The 38-year-old biracial individual, who is self-employed in marketing communications, expressed about the fresh promotion: ‘Hang on tight, dear. It’s coming shortly.’

In the advertisement, Jessel Taank, the creator of the Indian retail platform ŌUSHQ, donned a pair of black leather gloves and a coordinating crop top.

Sai De Silva, the creator of Scout the City (a popular lifestyle blog based in Brooklyn), sported an eye-catching asymmetrical blouse and a bouncy ponytail during the promotional event.

In the promotional shoot, Erin Lichy, mother of three and wife to Abe, donned a chic black halter top adorned with dots as she held an apple.

On the 23rd of July, Douglas Elliman real estate agent Douglas Elliman, who additionally operates an interior design company called Homegirl, posted a backstage photo with the caption: “Resumed my work!”

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve learned that Designer Rebecca Minkoff has been officially welcomed as a companion for this upcoming season 15. She’s already made her mark by joining the revamped cast back in April.

“Andy Cohen, the executive producer, expressed his pride in a THR cover story published in May, noting that Bravo has made significant efforts to ensure their shows reflect the diverse makeup of the nation in terms of demographics.”

George Floyd’s tragic death sparked a significant change in perspective, compelling us to scrutinize all our established norms. In response, Bravo decided it was essential to enhance diversity within their television shows. Originally, they had a series called Summer House, which primarily featured white people enjoying the Hamptons.

In Charleston, the cast of Southern Charm were often seen engaging in mischief that resembled tomfoolery among white society. They began to ponder why many TV shows seemed divided along racial lines. Recognizing a need for greater diversity, they embarked on creating more inclusive programming. And they successfully achieved this goal.

Last year’s premier of the 14th season attracted approximately 1.7 million viewers, representing a substantial 29% rise compared to the viewership of season 13, as reported by TheWrap.

Initially known as “Manhattan Moms”, Real Housewives of New York City (RHONY) was a spin-off from The Real Housewives of Orange County. When the series debuted in 2009, the original cast members were compensated approximately $7,000 to participate.

Friday just blew my mind when I read on Deadline that Bravo’s cooking up a new show, focusing on none other than the fabulous Dorinda Medley from RHONY (seasons 2015-2020)! It seems this spin-off will delve into the enchanting world of her Blue Stone Manor estate. I can hardly wait to see more of Dorinda’s charm and wit!
