The real Danny Dyer reacts to his own lookalike competition and shares his shock at the unexpected winner as he jokes ‘did you nick it?’
On Wednesday, it was a surprise for the genuine Danny Dyer when he learned who had won his doppelganger contest.
As a devoted admirer, I joined the throng of bearded men donning tracksuits who made their way to London. Yet, amidst this crowd, it was none other than Mike from Southampton who emerged victorious.
In a somewhat different physical likeness to the EastEnders star, Mike made an impression with his fashion selection, donning a white and maroon Sergio Tacchini jacket reminiscent of the one worn by the famous British actor in his 2005 film The Business.
And the actor, 48, was genuinely shocked to meet the winner as he asked: Did you nick it?’
He then joked: ‘You have got the same double chin there look’.
Surrounded by a host of Danny’s the star joked: ‘This is like me ageing through the years.’

He commented, “This feels incredibly unreal to me, and I’ve come to realize that I bear little resemblance to Danny Dyer now.
While the unexpected victor, Mike, himself acknowledged that no one had ever mentioned his resemblance to the famous star before.
In an interview with Metro, he shared: “Nobody has ever said I resemble Danny Dyer, but we’ve had somewhat comparable upbringings – both being from working-class backgrounds.
It appears that Mike emerged victorious, largely due to his captivating personality reminiscent of Dyer, as he put it himself: ‘I’m undeniably handsome, extremely charming, and quite the old soul.’
Speaking after his win he confessed: ‘I didn’t expect to win in the slightest.’
Addressing the second-place contestant, Richard, who bore a striking physical resemblance to Danny, he playfully remarked: “It seems like I’ve run into Danny Dyer today.
Mike managed to secure the top position ahead of Richard, surprisingly, as Richard bears a strong resemblance to the former EastEnders star. Remarkably, he is represented by an agency due to his uncanny likeness to the actor.
With his dark, rocky beard and stylishly sleeked-back hair, there was an astonishing resemblance to the 47-year-old actor – it was almost eerie; however, he failed to win the accolade.

Mike outperformed over a dozen competitors who resembled him, each donning Fila jackets, sunglasses, and styling their hair in a similar sleek, combed-back style reminiscent of the iconic figure from East London.
After the rising popularity worldwide of competitions featuring celebrities who resemble other famous individuals, we held the Danny lookalike contest.
Last year towards the end, a multitude of young men resembling Harry Styles invaded the heart of England, gathering for an exciting face-off.
Competitors were motivated to don vibrant ensembles reminiscent of One Direction’s flamboyant style, as judged by a combination of renowned figures and die-hard fans of the band.
The group of judges consisted of Ryan Lanji, famed for his party planning skills on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, as well as Bonnie McLaren, the writer of The Book of Harry.
Prizes varied; the winner received £50, along with a choice of hair products, while the victor in the ‘best hair’ contest was awarded these. Meanwhile, the titleholder of the ‘best style’ competition took home an assortment of six organic wines.
Regardless of who was deemed the least like Styles at the event, no one went home without a prize – they received a four-pack of inexpensive beer instead.
Ultimately, the contest was won by 22-year-old musician, Oscar Jorneaux, who openly confessed that he entered primarily for ‘publicity’ purposes.

Only a few weeks prior, New York City held an event similar to that of Timothee Chalamet, leaving fans ecstatic when the actor unexpectedly appeared, accompanied by his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner.
Accompanied by a group of protectors, the actor struck poses alongside individuals who shared his likeness, particularly those with curly hair. Some of these look-alikes even donned costumes representing his characters, such as Willy Wonka and Paul Atreides from Dune.
Due to their exceptional performances, some spectators even thought the competitors were Timothée Chalamet himself.
Noah Wildie, aged 23, expressed astonishment to DailyMail.com, stating that it was “unbelievable” when the actor showed up, given the enthusiastic shouts and screams from crowds numbering in the hundreds.
