The Pitt’s Most Annoying Patient Is Due For A Big Comeback!

In Season 2 of “The Pitt,” the most irritating character seems poised for a promising storyline development, with the series subtly setting up their future trajectory from the get-go. The diverse characters in “The Pitt” provide distinct viewpoints on what it entails to work in a trauma center, a facet enhanced by the series’ commitment to authenticity when portraying medical incidents. Nevertheless, this diversity of opinions sometimes leads to disagreements within the show, as seen in the ongoing debates between Robby and McKay regarding Daniel and his mother, or the recurring tension between Santos and Langdon.

In my opinion, as a movie reviewer, “The Pitt” skillfully integrates medical insights from beyond the professional realm, making the hospital a focal point where various patient stories unfold over extended periods. For instance, we follow the journey of patients receiving treatment, offering insights into their experiences. These narratives are particularly poignant when they intertwine with key characters like Jake, son of Robby’s ex-girlfriend, whose bond with him is strained following the PittFest shooting.

However, it’s a persistent character, who shares a significant connection with another doctor, that could potentially drive an engaging storyline in “The Pitt” season 2. Their evolution seems to be already underway.

The Pitt Season 1 Hinted That Chad Is Realizing He Has To Grow Up

McKay’s Ex Might Still Have Feelings For Her

In the upcoming season, it appears that Chad, who was once involved with McKay, is being set up for a chance at redemption. Showcased as somewhat immature compared to the resident, he arrives at the hospital with a broken bone and their son, Harrison. He seems remorseful about his girlfriend’s attempts to overstep in Harrison’s life, and while on painkillers, expresses jealousy towards Mateo’s friendship with her. This could lead to a plotline in season 2 of The Pitt involving Chad’s lingering feelings for McKay.

One instance illustrating this potential development takes place when he stumbles into the ER where numerous PittFest shooting victims are being attended to. He observes in admiration as McKay rescues a patient, the expression on his face revealing that he had never truly grasped the challenges of her profession until that instance. Another such scene unfolds when McKay’s father, picking up Harrison, belittles him; Chad remains unresponsive, suggesting an acknowledgement of his own immaturity. Although it may seem subtle, this incident hints at a future where he continues to grow and mature, a journey that carries on into the subsequent season.

Chad Will Still Be Part Of Cassie’s Life In The Pitt Season 2

The Upcoming Time Jump Could Be Part Of His Maturity Journey

In the upcoming season 2 of The Pitt, creator R. Scott Gemmill has set the story approximately 10 months after season 1 during a Fourth of July weekend. This time leap offers an opportunity to solidify Chad’s personal growth, offering glimpses into his efforts to transform himself. However, his transformation isn’t yet complete, providing room for him to have opportunities to act righteously and become the father Harrison needs, whether or not this actions win back McKay.

Despite being uncertain about Chad’s role in The Pitt moving forward, his instance of self-awareness while observing McKay and choosing not to retaliate against his father’s criticisms hints at his potential for transformation. Exactly how this change will manifest isn’t yet clear; we can only speculate what it means for Chad to dedicate himself to becoming a good father and person. Fingers crossed that when season 2 comes along, his growth won’t solely stem from lingering feelings for his ex, but also from a genuine desire to improve for the benefit of those around him.

The Pitt season 2 begins on Max in January 2026.
