At Paris Fashion Week in January, Pharrell and adidas caused quite a splash with their innovative Jellyfish silhouette design. Now, another color scheme for the collaborative model has surfaced: “Triple Black.” This latest revelation comes from frequent collaborator Pusha T. The “Triple Black” version moves away from the vibrant hues of the original Jellyfish colorway towards a more subdued aesthetic. Instead of relying on bright colors, this design emphasizes its key features using textures rather than tones.
Despite King Push releasing just one image of the sneaker, we’re grateful because he has a knack for capturing sneaker photos effectively. Remarkably, that solitary snapshot reveals several essential aspects of the new colorway. As its name suggests, the “Triple Black” design employs a monochromatic scheme, with every detail from the sharp plastic overlays to the adiPRENE midsole being cloaked in a dark shade. The sole bursts of color come from reflective material used for accents on the eyelets and patterned details on the laces.
In the picture, you don’t notice it, but if the “Triple Black” color scheme aligns with the branding tradition of the earlier unveiled makeup, it will include a tiny jellyfish emblem on the tongue and insole along with the word “Virginia” embossed on the tongue. By the way, Pusha T has some expertise in adidas’ “Triple Black” collaborations, as his all-black EQT Guidance Running ’93 “Black Market” was launched on Black Friday 2015.
The Pharrell x adidas Jellyfish “Triple Black” doesn’t have a confirmed launch date as of now, but we anticipate it will become available sometime in the year 2025. When it does, you can look forward to its price point being set at approximately $280 USD.
