The Phantom Scrolling Beat ‘Em Up Brings the Costumed Super Hero to Xbox in 2025
As a lifelong fan of The Phantom, I am beyond thrilled about this upcoming game! Growing up with the iconic superhero stories, I remember eagerly flipping through the comic strips and watching the animated series whenever I could. So, to finally see The Phantom brought to life in a 2D scrolling beat ’em up feels like a dream come true!
King Features Syndicate and Art of Play have declared the release of a 2D scrolling beat ’em up game, titled The Phantom. This modern interpretation features the iconic masked superhero who first appeared in 1936.
In this game, you can choose to play as either the Phantom, famously portrayed by Billy Zane in the 1996 film and in the ’90s cartoon Defenders of the Earth, or his partner Diana Palmer. Together, you’ll face off against the Singh Brotherhood pirates across 15 different levels.
In this game, you’ll employ hand-to-hand combat techniques and weapons to defeat malicious minions and leaders. You can call upon your reliable white steed Hero for assistance, or enlist Devil the wolf for aid. This exciting game, titled The Phantom, includes a fresh, unique storyline approved by King Features Syndicate, and boasts comic book-style artwork.
The Phantom is coming to Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC in 2025.
