The Perfect Couple episode 2’s reveals are interesting, but most of the characters are not (Review)
As a seasoned gamer and binge-watcher of countless TV series, I must say that “The Perfect Couple” is shaping up to be quite the intriguing drama. The second episode, “She Would Never Do That,” was a step up from the first one, with more revelations and a deeper dive into the characters’ complex relationships.
Moving forward to the next installment! Although the first episode of “The Perfect Couple” was necessary for setting up characters and plot, the second one begins to pick up pace and unveils the intricate relationships between the characters. Unlike the initial episode that kept things under wraps, this one, titled “She Would Never Do That,” offers a glimpse into the tangled web of interactions. Now, let’s dive into the review! SPOILERS AHEAD.
Episode 2 starts off by showing us Amelia repeatedly stating “It’s all my fault,” which leads us back to the previous night when Amelia and Merritt had a heated argument. In reality, Amelia had valid grounds for her anger
It’s been confirmed that Tag has been unfaithful to Greer, and the woman involved is Merritt, who is also expecting a child. This revelation came about when Greer recognized the gold bracelet on Merritt’s hand as the one given by Tag. Ouch! The situation now seems to implicate both Tag and Greer, as they appear to be holding back more information than they should. This is hinted at when Greer tells Tag to clean up the wine he brought out because she’s been tidying up after him all day. Ouch again!
Someone else who clearly has something to hide is Shooter. Why was he trying to leave and flee the police? Also having an affair are Tom and the French woman, Isabel. I still don’t understand who she is. A family friend? Someone please explain because no offense, I don’t get the point of her in the story at all. As a side note, one character I actually really like is Gosia, the head housekeeper. She’s just so funny. I look forward to her commentary.
Regarding Benji, I must admit that I have strong dislike for him. He appears quite cowardly, particularly when it comes to his mother. It’s concerning that he and Greer make Amelia sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). I was exclaiming, no! This is bound to cause issues for her later on. Initially, he seemed like an ideal man, but I fail to understand the appeal. This explains why Amelia is gradually feeling the same way
question I’d like to clarify is: By what means did Tag discover that Amelia was aware of his and Merritt’s romantic involvement?
Regarding the mystery surrounding Tag and Amelia, it’s unclear whether future episodes will shed light on their situation. For now, the show seems to be leaving it somewhat enigmatic, with no immediate clarification provided. It’s a bit puzzling at the moment, but we’ll have to wait and see how things unfold
The second episode of “The Perfect Couple” contained some intriguing revelations at both the start and finish, but it was mostly filled with discussions about already known or deduced facts. Despite this, I still consider it a solid episode. At the moment, Merritt and Greer are my favorite characters; the rest seem ordinary. Here’s my grade for this episode: B. Stay tuned for reviews of episodes 3 and 4 tomorrow, followed by episodes 5 and 6 on Saturday
All 6 episodes of The Perfect Couple are now streaming on Netflix.
