The new romantic drama series, Finding Her Edge, is now available on Netflix. Based on Jennifer Iacopelli’s novel, the show is a sweet and emotional story about young love and sports. It features a fake dating plot, rumors surrounding a reality show, and a complicated love triangle that unfolds both on and off the ice.
Madelyn Keys stars as Adriana Russo, the sister at the heart of a family of figure skaters who are facing hard times. As Adriana prepares for the world championships with her new partner, Brayden (played by Cale Ambrozic), she can’t shake her feelings for her previous partner and first love, Freddie (Olly Atkins). To make matters even more complicated, Adriana and Brayden start pretending to be a couple off the ice, hoping to attract a valuable sponsorship.
I was reading an interview with Olly Atkins, who plays Adriana’s first love, and he described all the characters as pretty messy and complicated, but in a good way – they’re all really going after what they want. Madelyn Keys, another one of the actors, said the writers did an amazing job making characters who are flawed, but you still find yourself wanting them to succeed, you know?

Jeff Norton, who previously worked on the Netflix series Geek Girl, is the showrunner and executive producer of this show.

According to Norton, the show isn’t really focused on the skating itself. It’s more about a group of people facing big changes and dealing with the challenges of life – things like first loves, real relationships, family obligations, and following their passions – all set within the exciting world of figure skating.
Although Finding Her Edge has a unique feel, readers who loved The Summer I Turned Pretty might especially enjoy it, as it also features a love triangle. Forbes magazine suggests it’s perfect for fans of the popular show My Life With The Walter Boys as well.
We predict it’ll be a popular binge-watch.
Finding Her Edge is available on Netflix from 22 January, 2026.
The latest issue of Living Legends is now available, and it’s dedicated to the incredible Dolly Parton! You can purchase “Dolly at 80” at newsstands or online for only £8.99.
