As a seasoned gamer of the small and big screens, I can confidently say that Emily Meade has been a consistent, captivating presence in my binge-watching escapades. Born and raised in the concrete jungle where dreams are made of, this New York City native has graced us with her talent on some of HBO’s finest productions.

Emily Meade, who’s been making waves lately as a standout performer, has also graced the screens in HBO’s “The Penguin“. Here are other places where you can catch her impressive acting skills at work!

Growing up in New York City, I’m Emily Meade, and if my face looks familiar to you after watching me on ‘The Penguin’, it might be because I’ve graced other beloved HBO series. Among them is ‘The Deuce’, where I take on the role of Lori Madison, and in season 1, you can spot me as Aimee on ‘The Leftovers’. Most recently, I made an appearance on ‘Law & Order’. In the DC Comics series “The Penguin,” Emily Meade assumes a modest yet impactful part, portraying a young version of Oswald Cobbs’ mother, Francis. If you’re familiar with HBO’s crime drama, you’ll recognize Deirdre O’Connell as Francis Cobb and Colin Farrell as her son, Oswald. To put it mildly, Francis plays a crucial role in Oswald’s life!

In episode 7 of “The Penguin,” titled “Top Hat,” we encounter a younger version of Francis (portrayed by Meade). As the series progresses, we’re treated to flashbacks depicting the young protagonist, helping us understand his transformation into the infamous villain. With insights into Oswald’s connection with his mother, many aspects are becoming clearer. This understanding wouldn’t have been achieved without Meade’s performance in this role, which we’re grateful for.

There’s still plenty of Meade to be seen on “The Penguin”. It seems likely that he will reprise this role in the final episode airing on Sunday, Nov. 10. The sneak peek trailer for the episode hints at flashbacks featuring a young Oswald conversing with his mother.
