The Owl House Is Making An Unexpected Return, And With A Twist

Disney’s is about to make an unexpected comeback with a new title that already looks amazing.

Dana Terrace, the creator and showrunner of The Owl House, recently shared the cover for the new graphic novel, The Owl House: The Long-Lived King. Written by Terrace and Mikki Crisostomo, with illustrations by Daun Han, the book promises another exciting adventure in the Demon Realm.

The show first aired on Disney Channel in 2020 and quickly became popular with kids and teens who love fantasy adventures. It follows 14-year-old Luz Noceda, who accidentally finds a gateway to a magical and sometimes scary world called the Demon Realm, filled with amazing creatures and ideas.

Luz Noceda’s life changes forever when she meets Eda Clawthorne, a powerful and independent witch nicknamed the Owl Lady, and finds a new family. The series follows Luz as she explores the Demon Realm, forges amazing friendships with characters like King and Hooty, and bravely defends both her human world and her adopted home from dangerous enemies, including the sinister Emperor Belos and the incredibly strong Collector.

From the moment it premiered, The Owl House was a hit with critics, and that continued throughout its three seasons on Disney Channel. Currently, the show boasts a perfect 100% “Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes, meaning all critics recommend it. Viewers also generally loved it, giving it an 82% score on the site’s “Popcornmeter.”

What To Expect From The Owl House: The Long-Lived King

Following the conclusion of the original series, The Owl House: The Long-Lived King will explore the history of the Boiling Isles in greater detail than ever before. According to Penguin Random House, the story focuses on King as he grapples with what it means to be a Titan and comes to terms with outliving his friends and family, while still cherishing the time they have together.

The story follows King after he accidentally wipes Luz’s memory. He teams up with the Collector and Eda to try and restore her memories, and they all face their biggest fears during the journey. This graphic novel is full of funny moments, exciting action, and beautiful black-and-white artwork inspired by manga, bringing readers back into the world of The Owl House for a thrilling new adventure.

The Owl House: The Long-Lived King from Penguin Random House is set to go on sale Sept. 29.
