The Original Transformers Ultra Magnus Design Gets New First-Look Prototype Reveal

Magic Square first showed off a prototype of their new Ultra Magnus action figure earlier this year. Now, fans are getting a detailed preview of what the finished, transformable toy will look like.

The MS-B61 Adjutant, a new version of the classic Autobot Ultra Magnus from Magic Square, is finally shown in full color. This “Legends Scale” figure is incredibly detailed and poseable, accurately capturing the character’s look from the animated series. Expected to be released next year, it’s a great collectible to celebrate Ultra Magnus’ debut anniversary.

Magic Square Rolls Out a Color Version of the Latest Transformers Ultra Magnus Action Figure

MS-B61 Adjutant is a figure designed to look like Ultra Magnus as he first appeared in the original Transformers cartoon. It carefully recreates his look from that series and features a lot of movable joints, allowing you to pose him in many iconic scenes.

Besides his famous shoulder-mounted missiles, Ultra Magnus also carries a white rifle when he’s in robot form, allowing him to fight Decepticons. Like the original Ultra Magnus, he transforms into a semi-truck designed to carry other cars. The truck’s cab is mostly white, and it connects with a trailer to become his robot body.

This version of the cab differs from the original toy and the animated model in one key way: it doesn’t fully transform into a robot that looks like Optimus Prime. It only connects with the trailer. The trailer is spacious enough to fit smaller Autobots in their vehicle forms. Plus, the robot’s chest can open to hold the Autobot Matrix of Leadership, though it’s meant for temporary storage.

Even though we’re now seeing a colored version, this is still a prototype of the Magic Square Ultra Magnus toy. That means we don’t have a confirmed release date or price yet, but it’s currently expected in 2026. This timing would mark 40 years since the first Ultra Magnus appeared in The Transformers: The Movie (released in 1986). Over the years, several Ultra Magnus toys have been released, and many have been white versions of the Optimus Prime figure.
