Everyone agrees that *The Office* is one of the greatest sitcoms ever made, and the actors who starred in it are known for being incredibly supportive of each other, even years after the show ended. Recently, Steve Carell made a special effort to see Jenna Fischer’s play in Chicago, called *Ashland Avenue*. And naturally, when Fischer shared the heartwarming story online, she included a clever nod to *The Office*.
Check out Jenna Fischer’s Instagram post about how she and Steve Carell reunited in Chicago. The Pam and Michael reference in the second slide is absolutely perfect!

Okay, so I was just thinking about *The Office* again, and that moment in Season 3 when Pam has her first art show is just so heartwarming. It’s really sweet when Michael actually shows up to support her, and even buys one of her paintings – it’s a picture of the office, of course! He tells her he’s really proud, and she gets so emotional and hugs him. It’s one of those scenes that always gets to me, and it reminded me of something I read recently…
Look who came to my art show. Love you Steve and Nancy!
Steve Carell and his wife, Nancy Walls – who also appeared on *The Office* as Carol Stills – were spotted at the show. It was lovely to see the former co-stars together as Angela Fischer finished her run in the highly praised play at Goodman Theatre’s Albert Theatre.
Naturally, people in the comments section were reminded of the art show episode of The Office, praising it and referencing the line, “Do you have something in your pocket?” Several of her former co-stars from the show also left comments.
- “Tearing up over here!! Love this so much! ❤️” – Angela Kinsey
- “This makes me so happy!!!! 😊😊😊😊” – Ellie Kemper
- “Love the live. It’s kinda Like Michael coming to Pam’s art show. ❤️” – Kate Flannery

Following his appearance in *The Four Seasons* earlier this year, Steve Carell is now working on a new, currently unnamed comedy for HBO. The show comes from Bill Lawrence, the creator of *Scrubs* and *Ted Lasso*, and Matt Tarses of *The Goldbergs*. It’s heartwarming to see Carell and Steve Fischer reunited and looking happy.
Jenna Fischer co-hosts the popular podcast The Office Ladies with her close friend and former The Office co-star, Angela Kinsey. Last year, Fischer publicly shared her battle with Stage 1 Triple Positive Breast Cancer, and thankfully, she’s feeling well after completing chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
It’s wonderful to see Jenna Fischer thriving professionally again, performing in a stage play after facing health challenges last year. It’s truly inspiring, and we’re excited to see the cast of *The Office* continue to support one another in all they do.
