The nine-month stand-in: Ghost leaves Nigma Galaxy

So, my run as a stand-in for Nigma Galaxy is officially over. I joined them back in February, and it’s been great, but I’m moving on now. It was fun playing with the team!

Nigma Galaxy has had a challenging year, though they showed promise with Daniel ‘Ghost’ Chan filling in, performing well at events like The International 2025, BLAST Slam II, and FISSSURE Universe: Episode 7. Overall, their year was just okay. Now that Ghost has left, the team has the opportunity to bring back a top-tier player for the crucial position 1 role.

Ghosted: Nigma Galaxy is without a position 1 player

So, back in early 2025, I heard that Miracle-, the famous player from Nigma, was taking a break from Dota 2. Nigma announced in April that he needed some time off for personal reasons, which was rough. With a whole year of tournaments coming up, they quickly brought in Ghost as a temporary replacement. Now, it’s November, and Ghost is officially done being a stand-in. It’s kinda crazy – he ended up being one of the longest-lasting fill-ins the game has ever seen!

Nigma announced on X that they were grateful for Ghost’s contributions to the team over the past year. He’d filled in as a player for many tournaments and qualifying events, including those for TI 2025 and the Esports World Cup. While his time with Nigma didn’t result in wins, the team showed improved strength and determination recently.

Is it time for Miracle to make his return?

Now that Nigma Galaxy hasn’t had to use a substitute player, many are wondering if Miracle is preparing to rejoin the team. He’s been absent from competitive Dota 2 for most of the year, and a spot seems available for him. However, Nigma Galaxy hasn’t officially said anything about replacing Ghost yet.

The team’s recent games have shown improvement, especially with Ivan ‘MinD_ContRoL’ Ivanov filling in, and some fans are starting to believe they could make a surprising comeback – a real ‘Miracle’ run.

The team is preparing for PGL Wallachia Season 6, which starts in 10 days. We can probably expect an announcement about Nigma’s new main player very soon.
