The next Walking Dead show is coming out sooner than you think

As a gamer who has lived through countless in-game apocalypses and survived zombie infestations more times than I can count, it’s hard to believe that The Walking Dead Universe is still thriving in 2024! Back in 2010, if someone had told me that Rick Grimes and Michonne would have their own miniseries, let alone two spinoffs that are still going strong, I wouldn’t have believed it. But here we are, with not one but three ongoing shows in the TWD Universe!

In 2010, if someone had predicted that The Walking Dead Universe would still be going strong in 2024-25, it might have seemed hard to believe. After all, long-lasting science fiction or fantasy series weren’t common back then. However, the franchise has proven its resilience, with the original show spanning 11 seasons and generating two spinoffs during that time frame.

The original franchise has been continued through three separate spin-offs, with two of them currently still in production. “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” was a self-contained miniseries that concluded the storylines for Rick Grimes and Michonne, while both “Daryl Dixon” and “Dead City” are ongoing series that were renewed for additional seasons following their initial debuts.

Over the past five weeks, “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” Season 2 (“The Book of Carol”) has captivated audiences with its enthralling storyline. As we approach the climactic finale, anticipation is high due to the series’ momentous events that have left viewers spellbound. The grandeur and excitement are certain to continue in this final episode.

Absolutely, this implies that you won’t see Daryl Dixon on screen for a while, but here’s some great news: We won’t be waiting much longer for additional content from The Walking Dead Universe.

The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 is coming in Spring 2025

The television series “The Walking Dead: Dead City” is returning to our screens as its second season is scheduled to debut on AMC and AMC+ in spring 2025. This means that Maggie and Negan will be back for another thrilling journey in New York City the following year, and given how the first season concluded, viewers are eagerly awaiting clarification.

At New York Comic-Con, through Variety, we received exciting news that TWD Universe enthusiasts had eagerly anticipated: The second season return of the series has been brought forward to an earlier date in 2023, rather than the previously announced 2025 release. While there was a chance it might be pushed back further into the year due to the existing delay, this early arrival is surely great news for its dedicated followers!

The next Walking Dead show is coming out sooner than you think

As a dedicated gamer, I was one of the fortunate ones who got to witness the premiere of the groundbreaking game, “Dead City,” on AMC and AMC+ in June 2023. Originally slated for an earlier release that year, it was pushed back to summertime. But once it hit our screens, it shattered records for the AMC+ service, leading to a swift renewal, not just for “Dead City,” but also for its sister spinoff, “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.

From my perspective as a fan, when we last left Maggie and Negan, the atmosphere was thick with tension. Having managed to persuade Negan to journey with me to New York City in an attempt to rescue my son Hershel, I reluctantly handed him over to The Croat to assume the role of Manhattan’s new leader, much like he had led The Saviors before. However, upon my return, I found myself grappling with doubts about my decisions and, truth be told, feeling a sense of guilt concerning the destiny that had unfolded for my adversary.

As we eagerly anticipate the second season, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement knowing that Maggie is planning to re-enter the city with the aim of rescuing Negan from his unwilling lifestyle. Yet, I wonder if this rescue mission will prove simple or if the ominous past of Negan and Lucille may resurface once more?

Is it 2025, yet?
