The must-see trailer for “unconventional” psychological thriller Imperfect Women just dropped

The official trailer for the upcoming Apple TV series, Imperfect Women, is out now, hinting at a suspenseful and twist-filled story. Based on the novel by Araminta Hall, the show centers on three friends whose long-standing relationship is dramatically impacted by a crime.

The video features Elisabeth Moss (from The Handmaid’s Tale), Kerry Washington (Scandal), and Kate Mara (Friendship) as Mary, Eleanor, and Nancy, three women who seem to have a strong bond.

When Nancy unexpectedly dies, Mary and Eleanor begin to question how well they really knew her as they try to figure out what happened.

At the end of the scene, someone tells the three of them that whatever relationship they share isn’t a friendship – and warns them with a sense of foreboding.

The novel Imperfect Women promises a story about the complexities of life, focusing on themes of guilt, revenge, love, betrayal, and the lasting impact of the choices we make.

The investigation reveals how relationships, even the strongest ones, can evolve and shift over time, according to the synopsis.

In addition to the lead actors, the series includes Leslie Odom Jr. (known from Glass Onion), Joel Kinnaman (The Killing), Jackson Kelly (The Pitt), Corey Stoll (House of Cards), and Sheryl Lee Ralph (Abbott Elementary).

Moss and Washington are executive producers on the project. Moss previously shared their enthusiasm for the source material, saying they were immediately captivated by the novel and couldn’t stop reading it.

Washington said she was absolutely delighted to receive the call from Elisabeth, explaining she’d been a huge fan of her work – as both an incredibly talented actor and a pioneering producer – for a long time.

Annie Weisman, the writer behind ‘Based on a True Story’, is adapting the novel for the screen, and Washington believes she’s the perfect person for the job.

Imperfect Women arrives on Apple TV on 18 March, and will release weekly.
