The most explosive celebrity feuds of 2025: From Brooklyn Beckham’s bitter family row to Holly Ramsay and Adam Peaty brutally banning his family from their wedding

The festive season is a time for spending with loved ones and reflecting on the year that’s gone.

Some celebrities will be happy to leave 2025 behind, as it was marked by several very public disagreements and conflicts.

A major family dispute kept the Beckhams in the headlines this year. Brooklyn Beckham, the eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham, reportedly hasn’t spoken to his family since a falling out earlier in the year.

Towards the end of the year, another public family dispute arose, this time connected to the wedding of Gordon Ramsay’s daughter, Holly, and Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty.

This year also saw several other major public disagreements, including the ongoing back-and-forth between Kendrick Lamar and Drake, a dispute between Sabrina Carpenter and the White House, and a scandal involving drug allegations on the reality show Selling Sunset.

But what were the most explosive celebrity feuds of 2025

Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz versus The Beckhams

All year, the media has been reporting on disagreements within the Beckham family, sparked by reports that Brooklyn, the oldest son of David and Victoria Beckham, has been distancing himself from them.

Brooklyn has missed all the important family events this year, including his father’s 50th birthday and recent ceremony where he was formally given a special honor.

David celebrated his birthday with three different events: a family gathering in the Cotswolds, a dinner at the Core restaurant in London that Tom Cruise also attended, and a fishing trip in Scotland with his sons Cruz and Romeo.

Brooklyn didn’t attend any of the gatherings, and David shared on Instagram that they were missed (‘You were missed @brooklynpeltzbeckham’) following the fishing outing.

Everyone agrees that David and Victoria Beckham adore their son. The disagreement stems from Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz’s wedding in May 2022, which took place at the Peltz family’s estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

There was disagreement about Nicola’s wedding dress. Most people believe she chose a Valentino gown over having one made by her mother-in-law, though she’s the one who’s been accused of making that decision.

Everyone keeps saying that’s not how it happened at all! From what I understand, Victoria was the one who suddenly decided against it, completely out of the blue. It was a real shock to everyone involved, honestly.

Reports surfaced in May and June that David and Victoria Beckham were feeling disconnected from their son, Brooklyn, after he married Nicola Peltz. Sources claimed they felt he was under his wife’s influence and referred to him privately as if he was being controlled.

It was understandably upsetting for their son, Brooklyn, who felt deeply affected by the wave of negative attention. He began to suspect that his parents, David and Victoria, had either directly caused it or allowed it to happen.

When their personal issues became public news, Brooklyn and Nicola brought in a PR expert to try and calm the situation and stop the back-and-forth accusations. They hoped to reduce the conflict and ease tensions.

Just when the drama between the families seemed to be calming down in August, Nicola and Brooklyn unexpectedly held a second wedding celebration at the Peltz family home – and none of the Beckhams were invited. David and Victoria Beckham felt this was a deliberately hurtful act, and the last in a series of disappointments.

Now, months on, they remain estranged.

Holly Ramsay and Adam versus The Peatys

Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay’s wedding has been thrown into turmoil by a family dispute. Peaty has reportedly uninvited all of his relatives, except for his sister Bethany, from the ceremony.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m absolutely thrilled for Adam and Holly! They’re planning a truly magical Christmas wedding. Imagine exchanging vows in the stunning Bath Abbey – it’s such a beautiful, historic place! – and then celebrating with some festive drinks. It sounds like the perfect way to kick off the holiday season, and I’m sure it will be an unforgettable day for them and their guests.

Adam shocked everyone in November by disinviting his family from his wedding. This came after his mother, Caroline, wasn’t included in Holly’s elaborate bachelorette party.

People say problems within Holly and Adam’s family first became noticeable at their engagement party. It’s believed this event was filmed and will be included in a Netflix documentary series by Holly’s father, Gordon.

The surprising family conflict began when it was discovered that Adam’s mother wasn’t invited to Holly’s pre-wedding celebration. Holly was joined at the event, held at Soho Farmhouse, by her mother Tana, Adam’s sister Bethany, and Victoria Beckham.

After the disagreement, several conflicts came to light, with both sides making surprising accusations about what happened. This included claims that Holly and Adam pressured Caroline to change her wedding outfit because they disapproved of her original selection.

The conflict between the two families reportedly started at Holly and Adam’s engagement party, which was being filmed for a new documentary by Gordon for Netflix.

Adam Peaty’s family was upset after his fiancée’s hen do, and his aunt, Louise, publicly criticized him and Holly in a series of comments on Instagram.

She later said she hadn’t invited her sister, Caroline, to the wedding because of her appearance, explaining that she didn’t fit the desired aesthetic.

However, Adam’s sister, Bethany, seems to have avoided the family conflict – she was invited to Holly’s hen party in the Cotswolds.

Sabrina Carpenter versus Donald Trump

Sabrina Carpenter publicly criticized the White House after they used her song, “Juno,” in a video highlighting arrests made by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). She called the White House’s use of her song ‘disgusting’.

The video included a caption that said, ‘Have you tried this one? Bye-bye,’ along with a heart-eyes emoji.

Sabrina strongly condemned a video on X, calling it “evil and disgusting” and stating she does not want her music used to support what she considers a cruel cause.

I was honestly shocked when the White House responded to the singer! Their spokesperson, Abigail Jackson, actually quoted the artist’s own song lyrics in her statement – it felt like a really unusual and pointed move.

Okay, so Sabrina dropped her album ‘Short n’ Sweet,’ and this guy, Jackson, totally took it the wrong way. He posted this… thing, basically saying he’s not sorry for kicking out ‘dangerous criminals’ – and he specifically used the album title like it was some kind of justification! It’s just… ugh. It’s so bizarre and totally twisting her art into something awful. He’s using her words to defend… well, honestly, it’s horrifying. I can’t believe someone would do that to Sabrina!

The spokesperson quoted lyrics from the singer’s song ‘Manchild’ and continued by saying, ‘People who defend these awful individuals are either unintelligent or simply not thinking clearly.’

Days later, the White House continued to respond to Sabrina with another post on X (formerly Twitter). This time, they shared a clip of the singer from a promotional video for Saturday Night Live, featuring cast member Marcelle Hernandez.

Sabrina and Marcelle performed a playful skit where Sabrina jokingly threatened to ‘arrest’ people in the audience for being attractive. In the skit, Sabrina said to Marcelle, ‘I think I need to arrest someone for being too hot,’ and Marcelle responded with a flirty, ‘Oh well, I turn myself in.’

However, the White House posted a revised version of the message where the word ‘hot’ was changed to ‘illegal,’ and the caption stated: ‘Public Service Announcement: If you are an undocumented criminal, you will be arrested and deported [sparkle emoji].’

Shortly after Sabrina confronted the President, singer SZA publicly criticized the White House for featuring one of her songs in an advertisement for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The caption, which read ‘WE HEARD IT’S CUFFING SZN. Bad news for criminal illegal aliens. Great news for America,’ quickly received strong criticism.

SZA said the message was intentionally designed to provoke a response from artists, and she quickly criticized both the message itself and the use of her work in it.

She criticized the White House for deliberately provoking artists online, calling it a cynical and ineffective tactic to gain attention. She described the strategy as ‘rage baiting’ and labeled it ‘inhumane, shocking, and boring.’

Several other artists, like Olivia Rodrigo, Céline Dion, and Bruce Springsteen, have also publicly criticized Donald Trump for using their songs without permission.

Kendrick Lamar versus Drake

Last year, Drake and Kendrick Lamar were involved in a heated public dispute, exchanging critical songs aimed at each other. This culminated in Kendrick’s performance of ‘Not Like Us’ at the Super Bowl, where he controversially accused Drake of harmful behaviour.

The song also criticized several people who frequently work with or do business with Drake.

Despite exchanging harsh songs with Kendrick and releasing a follow-up track that jokingly referenced his rival’s previous work, the Canadian artist—who started as an actor—seemed to end the conflict once his song, ‘Not Like Us,’ became a major success.

The enthusiastic audience reaction to Kendrick Lamar’s walk-up music, Drake’s ‘Not Like Us,’ at the 2025 Grammy Awards – where he won both Record and Song of the Year – indicated a shift in support away from Drake within the music industry.

The song was a huge success at the Grammys, winning five awards and tying the record for the most Grammys ever won by a single song.

A few days after the conflict began, Kendrick Lamar had the opportunity to address the feud during his performance at the Super Bowl LIX halftime show. The performance of his song ‘Not Like Us’ notably featured Drake’s former partner, Serena Williams, doing a crip walk.

Okay, so I was there, and it was insane. Everyone was waiting for that line, you know, the ‘Certified Lover Boy?’ one. And when he got to it… he totally stopped himself! He didn’t even finish saying ‘Certified paedophiles’! Like, he just cut it off right there. I couldn’t believe it. Everyone went wild, honestly. It was a moment. I’ve replayed it in my head a million times!

It’s not certain whether that decision was made to steer clear of legal issues, or if the broadcaster or the NFL specifically asked for it.

Drake had previously sued Universal Music Group, which owns both of their record labels, claiming defamation. He alleged that a line in the song ‘Not Like Us’ falsely and maliciously accused him of being a ‘paedophile’.

Ugh, October was brutal. I was so hoping Drake would win that lawsuit over the diss track, but the judge just… dismissed everything! It was a huge blow, honestly. I was really counting on him to come out on top, but it just didn’t happen. It’s devastating!

Jackiey Budden versus Jeff Brazier

This year saw another public family dispute, this time involving the family of the late Jade Goody, who sadly passed away in 2009 after fighting cervical cancer. She is remembered by her sons, Freddy and Bobby Brazier.

It’s been a difficult year for Jade’s family, as disagreements and public controversies have resurfaced sixteen years after her death.

In early 2025, it came to light that Jeff Brazier, the ex-husband of Jackiey Budden’s daughter, had filed a legal claim. He was trying to prevent Jackiey from having contact with their son, Freddy.

Jeff has repeatedly claimed that she negatively impacts the young person, and they’ve had many public disagreements over the years.

Freddy has been accused of using cannabis excessively in the past. This led to his father trying to prevent him from visiting his grandmother, Jackiey, after learning they had been using the drug together at her home.

Jeff has hired a top lawyer for the upcoming court hearing, which is another development in his ongoing dispute with Jackiey.

This action caused a disagreement between Freddy and his father, who were both contestants on the popular TV show Race Across The World last year.

They eventually resolved their issues when the younger man sought advice from Jeff as he prepared to become a father.

And in August it was reported that Jeff had dropped the legal case.

Selling Sunset’s Chrishell versus Nicole

The conflict between Chrishell Stause and Nicole Young on Selling Sunset has been ongoing, and it finally reached a peak in the most recent season.

The latest disagreement happened during a dinner party on season 9 of the show, when Nicole, 39, said something hurtful about Chrishell’s, 44, late parents.

Chrishell responded to accusations about her co-star’s past drug use by saying, ‘You’re mixing me up with your parents. It seems like you’re really focused on drugs.’

The dinner party guests were very upset and demanded that Nicole leave right away.

Brett and Jason Oppenheim, the owners of the Oppenheim Group, scolded her and then terminated her employment as a real estate agent.

This disagreement was only the most recent in a series of conflicts between them. Chrishell stated in September 2024 that she would leave the show if Nicole were to return.

Almost immediately after they began working together, Nicole claimed Chrishell was trying to pass off a property as her own that Nicole had worked on before.

The two have argued repeatedly, and things got so heated that Chrishell ended up accusing Nicole of using drugs.

During season 8, Chrishell called Nicole deceitful, accusing her of spreading a false and hurtful story about her friend, Emma Hernan. The rumor, which came to light later in the season, was that Emma had been involved with a married man.

The drama really exploded after the cast received preview copies of the episodes. Chrishell said her friend Emma, 33, was completely shocked and hurt by what she called a ‘disgusting’ and completely untrue story.

Nicole also had to apologize for responding to a homophobic comment on Instagram that was directed at Chrishell, who is married to non-binary musician G-Flip.

Nicki Minaj versus Everyone

One star who has landed themselves in a range of feuds this year is rapper Nicki Minaj.

Cardi B and Nicki Minaj’s years-long feud resurfaced in September. Their rivalry famously escalated in 2018 with a physical altercation at an event.

Nicki and Cardi, two prominent female rappers, had a public feud earlier this year. It started when Nicki posted critical tweets about Cardi, who was pregnant at the time, and then removed them. Although they eventually agreed to a truce, the conflict initially flared up again.

Nicki Minaj took the conflict a step further by targeting Cardi B’s children, even naming her own daughter Kulture in a deliberately hurtful tweet. She also made disparaging remarks about Cardi B’s baby that was on the way.

Nicki Minaj shared a post boasting about her success, writing, ‘I’m dominating the charts even while pregnant! Still unstoppable, and no one can compete with my sales.’

Cardi B responded by pointing out that she doesn’t consider herself and Nicki Minaj to be equals, citing their different ages as the reason.

Months before, Nicki reignited a long-running disagreement with R&B singer ZA, 35, by claiming she was being dishonest about her age.

Nicki Minaj made a claim in a now-deleted social media post that singer SZA is in her ‘mid forties’ and asked to see proof of her birthdate. Although she quickly removed the post, fans took screenshots and widely shared them online. So far, there’s no proof to back up Nicki’s assertion that SZA is misrepresenting her age.

In June, Nicki Minaj seemed to publicly express frustrations with Jay-Z’s company, Roc Nation, through a series of vague posts on social media.

She didn’t mention Jay-Z or anyone connected to him by name in her recent posts, but she suggested she’s been deliberately undermined in her career by him.

The artist behind ‘Super Bass’ explained to her fans that disagreements about business matters are why she’s decided not to release new music.

Nicki Minaj has had public disagreements and feuds with several other artists over the years, including Mariah Carey, Remy Ma, Megan Thee Stallion, Lil’ Kim, Iggy Azalea, and Miley Cyrus.

Charli XCX versus Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift and her former touring companion seem to be involved in a high-profile and escalating public dispute, fueled by suggestive lyrics on her latest album, ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’.

In her song “Actually Romantic,” Taylor Swift sings about someone calling her “Boring Barbie” after they’ve had some courage from drinking Coca-Cola. Many fans believe this line is a dig at Charli, who has talked about using drugs in her own songs.

However, neither party has yet confirmed who the song is really about.

Charli later made comments about how people view her and referenced her ‘party girl’ image.

It’s really interesting to see how people interpret my public persona and then share their impressions – what aspects they focus on and what they overlook. I’m always curious about how a typical viewer perceives me.

‘And they probably think I’m a girl who parties and does drugs and is a little bit b***hy.’

Charli’s 2024 album, Brat, was a big hit and featured the song “Sympathy is a Knife.” Many fans believe the lyrics contain references to Taylor Swift.

In the song, Charli sings about feeling lost and insecure. She questions whether she’s overthinking things, and mentions hearing a voice that suggests people are making fun of her. Someone named George tells her she’s just being overly suspicious.

I really don’t want to see her behind the scenes at my boyfriend’s concert. I’m secretly hoping they split up soon.

The song’s lyrics seem to be about Taylor Swift, referencing a past relationship with Matty Healy, the lead singer of The 1975. This connection is made because Charli XCX’s husband, George Daniel (the drummer for The 1975), was the boyfriend she’s singing about. Taylor dated Healy briefly in 2023 before starting a relationship with Travis Kelce.

Aimee Lou Wood versus Walton Goggins

Earlier this year, fans began to wonder if Aimee and Walton, who starred together in The White Lotus, were dating in real life, fueled by their strong on-screen connection and activity on social media.

The pair were said to be having a major falling out, and the speculation really took off when they stopped following each other on Instagram.

Fans noticed a theory gaining traction because old comments and likes she’d left on his posts – from when they still followed each other – seemed to have vanished.

The fact that Walton abruptly ended an interview with The Times whenever Aimee was mentioned also led people to wonder about the nature of their relationship.

He firmly shut down the discussion with the publication, stating simply, ‘I won’t discuss that, and there’s nothing to talk about.’

At this year’s Met Gala, Aimee seemed to make an effort to steer clear of Walton, even while socializing with a different co-star.

Despite rumors of tension between them, Walton became visibly emotional while confirming that he and his White Lotus co-star were actually on good terms.

He clarified that there’s no bad blood between them, saying he deeply loves her and she means the world to him, during a recent interview with Variety.

Aimee responded to the online backlash, saying, “I think this really shows where we are as a society.” She dismissed the focus on Instagram, stating, “Why is everyone so hung up on it? Honestly, nobody cares about Instagram.”

I was so frustrated seeing all the gossip, but Aimee told me she actually tried to set the record straight at first. She was worried, though, that anything she said would just be taken the wrong way and made even worse, so she ended up staying quiet.

Walton clarified that he and Aimee didn’t have a falling out, but he did express one regret from their time working together. He told Aimee he wished he’d been at the finale watch party to share the emotional experience of watching the last episode with her.
