The Milk Cup Finals: First all-women Fortnite LAN ever to run in October at Los Angeles Comic Con

As a seasoned gamer with decades of virtual battles under my belt, I must say that the announcement of The Milk Cup Finals is truly a groundbreaking moment in our community. As someone who has witnessed the rise and evolution of esports, I can attest to the significance of this all-women LAN tournament in Fortnite.

As a gamer, I’m pumped about the Milk Cup Finals! Ninety-nine fierce competitors are going head-to-head in Fortnite, battling it out to claim their slice of the whopping $250,000 prize pool!

On August 12, it was revealed that “Gonna Need Milk” will be organizing The Milk Cup Finals, a Fortnite competition exclusively for women, scheduled to take place on October 5 in Los Angeles Comic Con.

As an ardent fan, I’m thrilled to be part of the groundbreaking $250,000 LAN tournament – a historic first all-women Fortnite event! The top 99 female Fortnite players from the U.S. have been given this incredible opportunity to battle it out for their slice of the prize pool, which stands as the largest in North American women’s esports history. This is truly a momentous occasion for women in gaming!

The Milk Cup Finals are collaboratively arranged with eFuse’s Women of the eRena (WOTE) and popular Fortnite streamer ThePeachCobbler, and is orchestrated by Raidiant’s all-female production team. This event aims to tackle the lack of opportunities for women in competitive gaming and offers a secure and welcoming platform for females to participate professionally.

The “Gotta Have Dairy” campaign is a project launched by the Milk Processor Education Program (MilkPEP), financially supported by America’s milk producers, with the aim of informing consumers and boosting the intake of fresh milk beverages.

How to watch The Milk Cup Fortnite Finals

1) The event takes place at Los Angeles Comic Con on October 5th, starting at 1 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. During this event, competitors will participate in a three-team tournament format, with the scores determined by both their placement points and team eliminations across six matches, as stated by Gonna Need Milk.

Spectators have the option to attend the event in person by purchasing tickets, or they can catch the action from home by tuning into eRena’s Twitch channel. Kelly Link serves as the host for The Milk Cup Finals, with LemonKiwi and Taco providing commentary throughout.

The Milk Cup already succeeded in the qualifiers for the Fortnite Finals

As stated by Gonna Need Milk, more than 300 female Fortnite competitors participated in three qualifying rounds, generating approximately 2.5 million views collectively. In the opinion of the organizer, The Milk Cup signifies not just another gaming competition, but a significant cultural milestone in the ongoing endeavor to raise the profile of women in esports.

“The Milk Cup represents a progressive step in Gonna Need Milk’s dedication to fostering and motivating women in sports, including esports. According to milkPEP’s senior marketing director Jen Grubb, this includes offering chances for female gamers to compete and amplifying voices within the gaming community. Moreover, milk’s nutrients contribute significantly to a gamer’s physical prowess. Consuming dairy milk offers a nutritional basis conducive to top-tier gaming performance, supplying vital nutrients that aid concentration, along with protein and B vitamins that sustain energy throughout extended gaming periods.”
