Davina McCall, host of The Masked Singer, transformed into pop icon Cher, sporting big, curly hair in newly released photos from the show’s upcoming season.
The 58-year-old TV star, who recently married hairdresser Michael Douglas, looked stunning in a sparkly, short dress, showcasing her fresh hairstyle.
Davina McCall was joined by judges Maya Jama, Jonathan Ross, and Mo Gilligan, along with host Joel Dommett, to reveal the celebrities participating in this year’s show and explain the new format.
She described the new series as fantastic, praising its quick pace and vibrant energy. She said it feels really fresh and innovative, with exciting new elements that are keeping everyone engaged.
Jonathan noted that the show’s panel had been consistently challenged and surprised throughout the series thanks to the addition of the band from The Masked Singer.
Joel explained that the first two episodes of the show begin with a live band performance. This is a new element for the show, and it really boosts the energy in the studio. Interestingly, the band’s lead singer is one of the people the contestants have to identify.

The first two episodes blend together seamlessly, creating a really engaging feel. Plus, the reveals in those episodes are quite significant.
The upcoming series will introduce a colorful cast of characters, including Moth, Can of Worms, Red Panda, Conkers, Artic Fox Toastie, Monkey Business, Yak, Sloth, Gargoyle, Disc Jockey, and Teabag.
Maya’s favorite was Monkey Business, describing it as a stylish and cool outfit. Mo preferred Red Panda, explaining that the panda dressed as a fireman was really neat.
When asked about a highlight from the new series, Davina hinted that one of the characters will perform ‘Colors of the Wind,’ a song she personally loves by a singer she admires.
Maya explained that the character in ‘Its Can Of Worms’ raps, and she was really impressed by how perfectly timed all the rapping was, especially considering it’s coming from a massive can of worms! She noted they didn’t miss a single beat.
Fans of The Masked Singer were surprised to learn that a well-known daytime television personality won this year’s Christmas special.
Just before the final reveal, it was discovered that Figgy Pudding was actually Scott Mills, the host of BBC Radio 2 Breakfast. Maya was the only judge who guessed correctly!
It was revealed that Baroness Floella Benjamin was the celebrity hidden as Santa’s Sack, and Maureen Lipman from Coronation Street was under the Goose costume.

Attention then tuned to who was the animated star hiding underneath Mistletoe.
Honestly, I was with Maya, Jonathan, and Davina on this one – I immediately thought it was Dermot O’Leary, you know, the presenter from The X Factor and This Morning. Mo, though, had a completely different idea and went with Big Narstie! It was fun hearing everyone’s guesses.
It turned out to be Dermot O’Leary, who took off his mask to reveal his identity to the audience and judges.
After winning, the presenter admitted it felt great, but added that he believed most people had already guessed he would win.
He added that the hardest part of the show was not being able to see whilst in the costume.
Dermot, 52, said he couldn’t see anything while wearing the costume. He described it as feeling quite cramped and tight, but manageable if you got used to it.
During filming of the holiday special, the host, Joel, mistakenly announced a celebrity guest’s name, causing a lot of confusion and disruption.
He recorded the show earlier in the year. Four celebrities performed in outlandish costumes, singing for a panel who tried to identify them.

During filming, Joel caused a problem with the ITV team when he immediately recognized the laugh of Dermot’s character, Mistletoe, and accidentally called out their name.
The studio audience erupted into laughter as he dropped to the floor in shame.
You won’t believe what happened to me recently! I was at an event and spotted someone in a costume, and their laugh… it was instantly recognizable. Before I could even think, I blurted out their real name! It just slipped out, and I was completely shocked that I did it!
Luckily, they had a good idea of who it was going to be. However, the producers warned me not to repeat my actions, and I was in trouble.
The Masked Singer returns on Saturday, January 3rd and Sunday, January 4th at 6:30 PM. You can watch it on ITV1, ITVX, STV, and the STV Player.
