The Madison: Premiere Date & First Look At Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone Spinoff

Taylor Sheridan’s new series, The Madison, will premiere soon, and we’re getting our first look at the characters. As the newest addition to Sheridan’s Yellowstone world, the show follows two families – one from New York City and one from Montana – whose lives become intertwined after a mysterious event.

Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfeiffer are the stars of the new Madison series. The cast also includes Patrick J. Adams (known from Suits), Matthew Fox (Lost), Beau Garrett, and Amiah Miller. Although announced in early 2023, the show took a bit longer to get going than other series in the Yellowstone universe. However, Paramount Television was confident enough in its potential to renew it for a second season early on, and filming for that season wrapped in December.

Paramount+ has announced that The Madison, the newest series in the Yellowstone universe, will premiere on March 14th. The first season will have six episodes. Along with the premiere date, new photos have been released, giving fans a first look at the characters, including Russell’s yet-to-be-revealed role and Michelle Pfeiffer as Stacy, the head of the Clyburn family. The images show the characters’ journey from the bustling city of New York to the peaceful scenery of Montana. You can view the photos in the gallery below.

Unlike most shows in the Yellowstone universe, The Madison is being called Sheridan’s most personal and intimate project yet. It promises a close-up look at family dynamics. Early previews suggest a different tone, with the characters of Clyburn and McIntosh bringing a sense of being outsiders to the story. We see this especially with Stacy, who appears to be struggling with simple tasks like setting up fishing gear, hinting at their unfamiliarity with the ranch lifestyle.

It’s still unknown what role Russell plays in The Madison. The show’s description focuses on the Clyburn family, and most other characters have different last names, suggesting they’re related to Stacy from Pfeiffer’s character. Considering the series is a drama about overcoming hardship, it’s likely Russell plays the Clyburn family’s father, whose death brings everyone together in Montana. This would also explain why he isn’t pictured with the other main actors in promotional materials.

One of the biggest questions surrounding The Madison is how it will tie into the larger Yellowstone universe. So far, the franchise has centered on the Dutton family, and with the show’s exact Montana location still unknown—aside from being somewhere in the central part of the state—there are many possibilities. It could involve connections like Ben Schnetzer’s character, who seems to be a sheriff, crossing paths with Kayce (Luke Grimes) as he works with the Marshals, or interactions with the Broken Rock Indian Reservation, potentially bringing back familiar characters.

Now that season 1 of The Madison has a release date, it will be interesting to see how soon Paramount+ orders another season. The delay of over a year between finishing season 1 and its release is still a mystery, but it’s likely due to Taylor Sheridan’s busy schedule and his careful oversight of post-production. Whenever season 2 arrives, Yellowstone fans have a lot to look forward to in 2026 with the premieres of both The Madison and Marshals in March.

The Madison begins streaming on Paramount+ on March 14.
