The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim is already available to watch at home
As a die-hard Lord of the Rings fan with a heart for all things Middle Earth, I must say that “The War of the Rohirrim” has been an unexpected twist in the saga! Being able to watch it at home so soon after its cinema release in the US is truly a blessing. It’s as if Frodo himself found a shortcut through the Shire to my living room!
In just two short weeks since its theater release, “The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim” can now be viewed from home in the United States.
Under Kenji Kamiyama’s guidance, this animated series serves as a prequel, narrating the tale of the House of Helm Hammerhand who valiantly protect their realm from an onslaught of Dunlendings in a fortress that ultimately gained the name Helm’s Deep.
Initially shown in cinemas on December 13, “The War of the Rohirrim” is now available for digital viewing in the United States as of today, December 27, making it just 14 days since its theatrical debut.
In the United States, you have the option to either purchase or lease “The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim” on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, and various other online marketplaces for digital media.
In the UK, you can’t stream the movie at home just yet. Typically, Warner Bros films become available for digital viewing about 45 days after their theater premiere in the UK. However, due to the quick US release, it might come earlier, but as of now, an official announcement is still pending.
For now, feel free to reserve “The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim” on Amazon Prime Video and iTunes (UK) so you can enjoy it right away when it becomes available.
Additionally, you have the option to reserve a copy of the movie on DVD, Blu-ray, or 4K Ultra HD before its debut in the UK. Unfortunately, the 4K Steelbook version is temporarily out of stock at retailers such as Amazon and HMV.
Warner Bros has yet to confirm a release date for the physical home release in the UK.
As a diehard gamer, it’s no wonder to me that “The War of the Rohirrim” is being rushed out for digital release in the US.
The movie has only grossed $7.3 million at the US box office, taking $1.2 million in its second weekend after a 72.9% drop. It hasn’t fared much better overseas, adding $7.9 million for $15.2 million worldwide to date.
Now showing in theaters across the U.S., “The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim” can be purchased or rented on Prime Video, iTunes, and other platforms in the United States.
