The Legend of Vox Machina will feature one of Lance Reddick’s final acting roles
As a devoted fan and longtime admirer of Lance Reddick’s extraordinary talent, I eagerly await the third season of “The Legend of Vox Machina” with bated breath. The anticipation isn’t just about witnessing the continued adventures of our beloved band of misfits; it’s also a chance to honor the memory of an actor whose performances have graced both the small and big screens for decades.
As a devoted fan, I can’t contain my enthusiasm for the upcoming third season of “The Legend of Vox Machina”! This captivating series, inspired by the Dungeons & Dragons campaign led by the talented troupe at Critical Role, is just like gathering with your closest friends to play make-believe as elves, dwarves, archers, and more. It’s a thrilling, action-packed adventure that goes down smoothly, much like sharing stories and laughter with good company. I can hardly wait!
In a more somber tone, it’s worth mentioning that actor Lance Reddick, known for his roles in the “John Wick” films and “The Wire”, will deliver one of his final performances in the third season. Reddick also lent his voice to Thordak the Cinder King, the ruthless dragon leader of the Chroma Conclave. Sadly, Reddick passed away from heart disease in March 2023, leaving fans questioning if he would be part of “Vox Machina” season 3. However, his appearance in the trailer confirms that we will have the chance to hear him one last time on this show.
On the Discord platform associated with Critical Role’s streaming service, Beacon, Sam Riegel – a member of Vox Machina’s cast – revealed that Reddick had recorded all his lines for the third season before his unfortunate demise. This means the show won’t need to replace him as originally planned, according to Gamerant. Even after Vox Machina appears in the third season, there are several projects featuring Reddick that were completed prior to his passing, which will eventually be released. Among these upcoming releases, you can look forward to seeing Reddick in the post-apocalyptic film St. Sebastian, the sci-fi thriller Apteros, and the spinoff movie of John Wick titled Ballerina.
Reddick was an exceptionally talented actor, always delivering top-notch performances. It’s heartening to know he’ll receive a fitting farewell in the third season of The Legend of Vox Machina, set to air on Amazon Prime Video on October 3.
