The Last of Us reveals first look at Kaitlyn Dever’s Abby in new season 2 teaser
As a die-hard fan who’s spent countless hours navigating the perilous post-apocalyptic landscapes of “The Last of Us,” I can barely contain my excitement seeing Kaitlyn Dever as Abby in the new season two teaser! The five-year time skip, Joel and Ellie’s tumultuous relationship, and the introduction of iconic characters like Abby and Dina promise a rollercoaster ride that’ll surely leave me on the edge of my seat.
The Last of Us has revealed a first look at Kaitlyn Dever in a new season two teaser.
In the next installment of the television series based on the video game, five years will have passed, and main characters Joel (played by Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) will carry on their odyssey in a world overrun with zombies.
Five years of tranquility after the first season finds Joel and Ellie, but their shared history comes back to haunt them, thrusting them into confrontations with each other and a perilous world that proves to be more treacherous and erratic than the one they originally departed from.
In the upcoming second season, several legendary characters from the video game saga will be introduced, with Dever’s character from “No One Will Save You” portraying the antagonist, a formidable soldier named Abby who harbors a deep grudge.
Abby’s appearance in the storyline coincides with the character Dina, who becomes Ellie’s romantic interest, being introduced, portrayed by actress Isabela Merced known for her role as Madame Web.
The following individuals are set to join the cast: Young Mazino from “Beef”, Catherine O’Hara known for her role in “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”, Spencer Lord of “Riverdale”, Tati Gabrielle from “You”, Danny Ramirez famous for “Top Gun: Maverick”, Ariela Barer from “Runaways” and Jeffery Wright, who will resume his character, Isaac Dixon, from the games.
The thrilling teaser sees Joel attending a therapy-like session with O’Hara’s character.
She asserts, while recounting the scene, “You can’t mend something unless you’re courageous enough to voice it openly.” In simpler terms, she suggests, “Speak up about the thing that scares you. Speak it aloud, regardless of what it is or how bad. What have you done?
The clip is filled with heartwarming moments including Ellie and Dina meeting, as well as Joel teaching Ellie to play the guitar. Abby is seen visiting a snow-filled graveyard, before getting attacked by a group of zombies.
Additionally, we catch a sneak peek into the forthcoming obstacles that the characters will encounter, battling against further fungal beings while darting through a railway station in an attempt to evade contamination.
Casey Bloys, HBO’s head, recently shared some news about the show’s planned air date in 2025 following the completion of filming in July, during a conversation with Deadline.
He shared that for the most part, during the first half of the year, his prediction is that they will become eligible for Emmy awards.
Next summer, you might get a chance to watch the second season of “The Last of Us,” as the qualification period for the Emmy Awards commenced on June 1, 2024, and will continue until May 31, 2025.
In the United States, The Last of Us can be watched on HBO. Meanwhile, in the UK, it’s available on Sky Atlantic and the streaming platform NOW. Currently, they are producing season 2.
