The Last of Us drops season 2 trailer

HBO has released the trailer for The Last of Us season 2.

In a month, the second season of the television version based on the PlayStation zombie game series will air, and this fresh sneak peek offers a glimpse into what lies ahead, leaving players who have experienced the games feeling apprehensive.

The trailer offers peeks into Ellie’s romantic journey with Dina, a birthday trip to a museum, an encounter with infected in snowy landscapes, and introduces two new groups of human adversaries: the formidable and heavily armed Wolves (also known as WLF or Washington Liberation Front), and the extremist cult, The Seraphites, who communicate using whistles and are known for their gruesome ritualistic killings.

Additionally, there’s a quick appearance of a flamethrower, an exciting sight, and a fleeting view of the fresh character, Abby. If you’re familiar with her, it’s clear.

The primary concern is revealing Ellie’s discovery of Joel’s actions at the end of season 1 in the hospital, and his subsequent lie to her about it. Bella Ramsey portrays this revelation with a serene anger, while Pedro Pascal’s expressionless response allows the weight of his guilt to shine through.

In contrast to Season 1 having nine episodes, Season 2 will consist of just seven. Showrunner Craig Mazin stated this decision was made because “The narrative material we received from Part II of the game is significantly more than what was in the first game. Consequently, part of our initial challenge was determining how to tell that expanded story over multiple seasons.

In doing so, you identify logical pauses, and this year, it seemed to us that the national pause occurred following the seventh episode.

While an official confirmation for a third season is yet to be made, considering Mazin’s statements and the format of the original content, there appears to be strong indications that a third season might indeed be in the works.

As a dedicated gamer, I can’t wait for “The Last of Us” to hit the screens! In the United States, it’s going to be an HBO exclusive, while in the UK, you can catch it on Sky Atlantic and NOW. The anticipation is real because Season 2 is set to premiere on April 13th. Can’t wait to dive back into this post-apocalyptic world!
