The Last of Us confirms April release window in season 2 update

The Last of Us has confirmed a release window for season two with a new teaser trailer.

In April 2025, the popular game-based movie is set to reappear on our screens, but as of now, an exact release date has not been disclosed.

In the approaching season, we’ll leap ahead five years, focusing on Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) as events from their shared past resurface, leading them into disputes with each other and a world that proves to be more treacherous and unstable than the one they previously departed.

In the second season, we’ll meet Kaitlyn Dever portraying ruthless soldier Abby, whose paths cross with Ellie when their interests clash due to Abby’s pursuit of revenge for someone dear to her heart.

Abby states in the preview, “Even if you’re programmed like I am, there are certain actions that everyone believes are simply unacceptable.

In other parts of the preview, viewers get a sneak peek at Isabela Merced portraying Dina, Ellie’s latest romantic interest, sharing a tender slow dance with her on the dance floor.

Among the fresh faces joining the cast are Young Mazino from “Beef”, Catherine O’Hara known for “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”, Spencer Lord hailing from “Riverdale”, Tati Gabrielle who starred in “You”, Danny Ramirez best recognized from “Top Gun: Maverick”, and Ariela Barer, a cast member of “Runaways”.

Currently, Jeffrey Wright is once again stepping into the character of militia leader Isaac Dixon, a role he played using motion capture technology in the video game “The Last of Us Part II”.

HBO portrays this character as a strong, yet silent leader of a substantial militia, yearning for freedom. However, due to an unending conflict with a formidable adversary that proves more resilient than expected, they find themselves ensnared in a war.

The television series “The Last of Us” is broadcast in the United States on HBO, while it can be found on Sky Atlantic and the streaming service NOW in the UK. The second season is set to debut in April 2025.
