Netmarble’s new game, THE KING OF FIGHTERS AFK, is an idle RPG featuring many popular and powerful characters from the KOF series. This tier list will break down the different characters in the game and give you advice on which ones are best to collect.
THE KING OF FIGHTERS AFK Fighters Tier List: Best Fighters Ranked
As a huge fan, I’ve been working on a fighter ranking system, and I’ve broken down all the characters into 8 different roles: Frenzy, Spike, Fury, Rush, Solid, Corrosion, Endurance, and Deathblow. To keep things clear, I’ve also grouped them into tiers – basically, how strong they are. I’m using five tiers: SSS (Overpowered), S (Strong), A (Good), B (Average), and P (Poor).

Best Fighters in THE KING OF FIGHTERS AFK
Best Frenzy Fighter – Orochi Leona
Leona Orochi is a very powerful character you can unlock through in-game events. Her normal skill, Baltic Launcher, damages multiple enemies based on her attack power. Her active skill, V Slasher, is even more potent, dealing significant damage over two turns.

I’m really excited about this character! When she uses her ultimate, Rebel Strike, she does a ton of damage to a single enemy and gets a buff called Bloody Rampage, which seriously boosts her critical hit rate for two turns. But what *really* sets her apart from other fighters is her Owned Effect – it gives *all* of my team a 100% attack boost! That’s amazing!
Best Spike Fighter – Shermie

Shermie excels as a single-target damage dealer. Her normal skill, Shermie Stand, hits one enemy for a percentage of her attack power. Shermie Spiral is even stronger, dealing massive damage and increasing the critical hit damage of nearby allies for two turns. Finally, her finisher, Shermie Exposition, delivers a devastating attack to a single foe.
Best Fury Fighter – Mai Shiranui

Mai Shiranui is my top pick for a Fury Fighter. Her normal skill, Hishou Ryueenjin, does a lot of damage to one enemy. Suichou no Mai is even more powerful and gives her a damage-boosting buff called Shiranui Flames for two turns. While her ultimate move, Chou Hissatsu Shioni Bachi, doesn’t hit as hard as her normal skill against a single target, it hits all enemies, making it a great trade-off.
Best Corrosion Fighter – Benimaru Nikaido

Benimaru Nikaido is a strong choice for a Corrosion Fighter. His normal skill, Raijenkin, does about as much damage to a single enemy as Mai’s skills. Handou Sandan Geri takes a bit longer, dealing damage over two turns. His finisher, Benimaru Rolling Thunder, doesn’t do much overall damage, but it applies the Shock debuff for two turns, causing enemies to take damage each turn based on the attacker’s strength.
Best Rush Fighter – Shun’ei

Shun’ei is a top-tier Rush Fighter known for dealing huge amounts of damage, especially with his finishing moves. His normal skill, Rising Efreet, and active skill, Aqua Spear, both inflict significant damage to a single enemy. What really sets him apart is Gaianic Burst, which is currently the most powerful single-target skill of any fighter I’ve discussed.
Best Deathblow Fighter – KUSANAGI

KUSANAGI is a powerful attacker. His normal skill, 76 Shiki: Kai, does a lot of damage to a single enemy. Ura 108 Shiki: Orochinagi hits all enemies in a row for moderate damage and can stun them for one turn. Finally, his finisher, 1999 Shiki: Kiri Homura, deals huge damage to a single enemy, though it’s not quite as strong as Shun’ei’s.
Best Solid Fighter – Blue Mary

Blue Mary is a solid fighter. Her standard “Hammer Arch” attack deals good damage to one enemy. Her special move, “M. Snatcher,” does more damage and also boosts the attack power of herself and allies in the same row for two turns. Her ultimate move, “M. Typhoon,” is comparable in damage to KUSANAGI’s ultimate.
Best Endurance Fighter – King

King is the last fighter on our list, and she really stands out among those focused on endurance. Her standard attack, Tornado Kick, hits one enemy. Trap Shot does extra damage and also boosts the critical hit damage of herself and her teammates in the same row for two turns. Finally, her finisher, Surprise Roses, deals a bit more damage to a single enemy than her other skills.
