The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers has revealed when fans of the band can expect a new album.
The singer, 44, announced that they’ve been working on a new album and believe it will be The Killers’ best yet, following a five-year gap since their last release.
People have been hoping to hear about a new album ever since Pressure Machine came out in August 2021.
In a recent interview on Wednesday, Brandon explained he’s working out the details of scheduling as he continues to develop his own music.
‘My best guess is that in 2027 you will get the best Killers record,’ he confirmed.
I’ve finished processing two sets of data. One is nearly ready, and the second should be completed soon. I’m currently figuring out the best way to manage the workflow.

Brandon told The Sun that the band was incredibly busy with over 90 shows in 2022, followed by 65 more in 2023, and a continuing residency at Caesar’s Palace in 2024.
Honestly, the amount of work that went into this project completely consumed 2024 and 2025! I’m now looking ahead, and I’m anticipating releasing two solo albums in 2026. We’ve been steadily writing material whenever we could, so I’m really excited about what’s coming.
After 25 years, some Killers fans recently learned where the band got its name.
Oh my gosh, The Killers! I still remember when I first heard ‘Somebody Told Me’ and ‘Mr. Brightside’ – instantly hooked! It’s amazing to think it all started in Las Vegas back in 2001, with Brandon as the singer and Dave Keuning on guitar. They just clicked right away, and the rest is history, obviously!
The next year, they expanded the group by adding bassist Mark Stoermer and drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr.
Even the most dedicated fans are just now discovering the true meaning behind the band’s name – it seems many people haven’t known it all along.
I always thought it was so cool to learn that The Killers got their name from a totally unexpected place! It turns out the band was inspired by a fictional group that appeared in New Order’s ‘Crystal’ music video back in 2001. I mean, who would have guessed?! It just shows you how much influence music videos can have, even on the bands themselves.
Brandon, a big New Order fan, noticed the band’s name printed on the drum set used by the fictional group in the music video, according to The Mirror US.

People on Reddit have discussed the band’s name before, wondering about its origins.
Someone wondered how the band “The Killers” managed to use that name all the way until the early 2000s without another band already claiming it, suggesting it seemed like a name that should have been taken by then.
That’s really surprising! It’s possible some band in the 1970s briefly used the name ‘The Killers’ before disbanding, but proving they were the original band at this point would be nearly impossible.
Honestly, claiming ownership of something like that feels completely absurd to me. It’s like if I tried to say I came up with the name “Post Malone” when I was a little kid – it just wouldn’t be believable, and it definitely wouldn’t be rightfully mine. It’s a ridiculous notion, really.
The band got their name, “The Killers,” from a surprising place: they spotted it on the drum kit of a made-up band in a New Order music video. When they discovered the name wasn’t already taken, they decided it was perfect, and this happened while they were first getting together in 2001.
Another user said: ‘I guess it’s just one of those things…
There were probably many heavy metal bands named The Killers back in the early 1980s that didn’t become successful.
