The Kid Laroi reveals why he was 'scared' to perform in Melbourne

As a dedicated fan who has followed The Kid Laroi‘s career since his early days, I must say that his performance at Rod Laver Arena was nothing short of electrifying. His sincere apology for the past incident in Melbourne and his heartfelt gratitude towards his fans truly touched me. It takes courage to admit one’s mistakes, especially in front of thousands of people.

The Kid Laroi admitted that he felt apprehensive about taking the stage in Melbourne, following the cancellation of his concert there two years back.

At a live performance held at Rod Laver Arena, the 21-year-old Australian rapper openly confessed during the event on a Saturday in the state capital of Victoria.

As a lifestyle guide, I can share that the artist behind the popular tune “Stay” has openly expressed profound remorse and regret for an incident that left him feeling deeply embarrassed, which occurred approximately two years back.

Speaking about my return to Melbourne and spending two nights there, I must admit I felt a tad apprehensive.

As a lifestyle guide, let me express my heartfelt gratitude to those who stand by me. I had moments of doubt, questioning whether my guidance was valued, but it seems those doubts were misplaced. Truly, I am privileged to have such loyal and exceptional supporters in my corner.

In June 2022, the pop star abruptly canceled a show 35 minutes after his scheduled appearance.

When he delayed both his Brisbane performance and his Melbourne appearances, citing ‘sickness’ as the explanation.

But, the Melbourne show was subsequently called off, following an impromptu performance at 170 Russell the night before.

‘That was really embarrassing,’ Laroi said at last night’s concert.

Occasionally, just as I’m ready to drift off to sleep, a thought strikes me: “Oh dear, I can’t forget about what transpired in Melbourne last time.” I want to express my gratitude for your return, for placing your trust in me, and for the love you have shown me.

I’m aware that many of you put in a great deal of effort by taking time off work, purchasing tickets, and spending your valuable resources to attend this concert. This act of dedication is not taken for granted, and I truly value your support.

It comes as the music star copped flak for cancelling an $800 meet and greet after his Sydney show.

Last month, the renowned artist put on a breathtaking show that further solidified his position as Australia’s most prominent musical ambassador.

Shortly following the performance, a TikTok user named George999 voiced his displeasure on the platform, sharing that the canceled meet and greet had left him upset.

Over still pictures of his VIP passes, the fan explained the unfortunate situation.

He mentioned that we were expected to purchase meet and greet passes for $800. However, after waiting in line for an hour, we received a notification that the event had been cancelled. He then displayed a text message as evidence of this communication.

The ticket holder replied sarcastically when informed that the meeting was being canceled but instead they would receive a signed poster, saying something like, ‘Well, what a fantastic swap!’

‘This was all the information we got on the night and nothing about refunds or anything.’

Additionally, the enthusiast shared their experience where the organizers first mentioned that the autographed poster could be collected from the VIP zone, but later on communicated that they would send it directly to the fans by post.

The disappointed fan then said that he was more worried about getting a ‘f***ing refund.’

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to The Kid Laroi for comment.
