The Karate Kid: Street Rumble is a Retro-Style 16-Bit Scrolling Beat 'em Up Coming to Xbox This September

As a huge fan of the classic Karate Kid movies from my childhood, I’m thrilled to pieces about The Karate Kid: Street Rumble! No Hilary Swank or modern-day reboot nonsense here – just the original 1980s action that made my heart race.

GameMill Entertainment unveiled The Karate Kid: Street Rumble, a throwback 16-bit beat ’em up game with scrolling mechanics, reminiscent of the initial three Karate Kid films. This title, set for release in September, does not incorporate Hilary Swank’s portrayal from “The Next Karate Kid.”

In the 1980s setting of San Fernando Valley and Okinawa, Street Rumble offers a fresh take as you step out of the dojo and engage in intense co-op brawls for up to four players, assuming the roles of Daniel LaRusso, Mr. Miyagi, Kumiko, or Ali Mills. Throughout twelve action-packed levels, you’ll encounter formidable adversaries such as Johnny Lawrence (his redemption in Cobra Kai still decades away), John Kreese, Terry Silver, and more.

With its captivating pixel-art graphics and catchy chiptune music, you’ll get to explore iconic places such as Topanga Beach, West Valley High School, Cobra Kai Dojo, and the All Valley Tournament. And the best part? You’ll have the power to perform the legendary crane kick. The Karate Kid: Street Rumble is set to release on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on September 20th.
