As a gamer who’s been through countless virtual workplaces and office politics, I can tell you that Phoebe’s predicament in The Irrational feels all too real. It seems like she’s stuck between a rock and a hard place, with Rachel’s plagiarism on one side and her loyalty to Alec’s world on the other.

In the thrill of wrapping up season 1 of “The Irrational,” I found myself pondering how long Phoebe’s new job would hold. Yet, it seems that the upcoming season 2 is subtly hinting at Phoebe’s re-entry into Alec’s professional realm once more, leaving me eager to witness their work dynamic unfold again.

It didn’t take much time for us to realize why Phoebe seemed less enamored with her new job than expected. By the second episode, it was revealed that Rachel had been plagiarizing, and in the third, she sought guidance from Marisa on how to deal with this issue.

Well, she took the advice. In episode 4, she turned Rachel in.

Will Rachel learn Phoebe ratted her out in The Irrational?

Currently, the focus is shifting towards whether Phoebe might lose her present employment. The show has several potential scenarios it could explore.

Initially, it’s revealed that Phoebe was the one who reported Rachel. Instead of acknowledging Phoebe’s action as justified, Rachel decides to dismiss Phoebe. This is because Rachel can no longer rely on Phoebe to maintain the (blatantly unethical) secrets she had been keeping.

Then there’s the storyline of Rachel being fired. This would make Phoebe’s job obsolete.

Would Phoebe even want to continue working for Rachel?

In the game of life, as a gamer, I can’t help but question Phoebe’s decision to stick with Rachel after all that’s transpired between them. Granted, if the job was still open to her and Rachel couldn’t fire Phoebe, one might expect Phoebe to seek greener pastures, right? After all, every gamer knows that sometimes you gotta roll the dice on a new adventure!

It appears that Phoebe might believe Alec won’t rehire her, or she could feel too shy to ask for her job back. However, as Alec notes, we often act irrationally despite our best intentions. Not surprisingly, Alec wouldn’t be taken aback by Phoebe’s thoughts in this situation.

The show presents an opportunity for Phoebe to rejoin Alec’s team, given her expressed affection for his work and her past assistance in various instances. However, whether she will muster the courage to discuss this with Alec remains to be seen. Could she consult Rizwan beforehand?
