Oh, The Block is back again, and I can hardly contain my excitement! As a long-time fan who has followed this show since its inception, I’ve seen it all – from renovations to demolitions, heartwarming friendships to bitter rivalries, and everything in between. This time, the 2025 season is set to be held in Daylesford, a picturesque town nestled in central Victoria.

The price tag of The Block’s housing plots for its 2025 series has been revealed.

For the upcoming 21st season, the widely recognized reality show “Nine” will commence filming in Daylesford, located centrally in Victoria.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share an exciting new twist for our upcoming season! Instead of revamping pre-existing properties, contestants will now have the unique challenge of finishing the blueprint of a stunning five-bedroom house from scratch. Get ready to design, build, and transform spaces like never before!

As reported by News Corp, Nine spent nearly $10 million to buy a plot of land, which will later be divided into five distinct parcels.

According to reports, Micjoy Pty Ltd, a firm owned by Nine, purchased a piece of property for approximately $9,445,801.00.

In a similar vein to past Block acquisitions, Micjoy invested $10 million in the renowned Gatwick Hotel of Melbourne during The Block’s 2017 season.

The company also paid $14.3 million for five properties in Hampton East, Melbourne for theĀ  2022 series.

The report stated that filming will start in March, and the selection process for the new group of “Blockheads” has been ongoing for quite some time now.

111 kilometers outside bustling Melbourne lies a quaint, rural town, which has grown into a preferred weekend escape for city dwellers seeking a break from urban life.

However, the local community leaders, representing a populace of approximately 10,000, express apprehension about how the popular TV series might affect the town’s reputation.

Nine acquired a plot, just off the primary city street, where five teams plan to construct lavish houses entirely from the ground up.

Steve Rowe, as the CEO of Daylesford Local Tourism Board, strongly believes that the show’s arrival will generate additional exposure for the region, potentially attracting even more visitors. This influx of tourists could positively impact Daylesford’s economy by stimulating growth.

But he has also expressed his concern about Daylesford’s image.

‘Once filming wraps up, my interest will drop off,’ he told the Herald Sun.

However, during the manufacturing process, it will undoubtedly attract people to town. The key is to ensure that it presents Daylesford in an authentic and appealing manner.

From my point of view, it’s essential to consider things from different angles. We form a closely connected group, and when our efforts coincide, we all prosper. It simply means seizing every opportunity that comes our way.

In the meantime, Alexander Hancock, a local merchant in Daylesford, shared with the media outlet that not all residents were overjoyed at the prospect of the Nine show arriving in town.

However, he agreed that the reality hit meant ‘free advertising’ for the tourist spot.

Initially, it was planned that Daylesford would host The Block’s 2024 season, but due to a disagreement on planning matters, the production was ultimately relocated to Phillip Island instead.

Although the planned location had received approval from Hepburn Shire, it faced a challenge at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) in September.

It appears that the network allegedly had to terminate reservations valued at around $500,000 for the show’s cast and crew regarding their lodging.

A production source shared with the Herald Sun that we’ve achieved numerous successful series across various settings, yet we avoid places where we’re not welcomed. (Paraphrased)

‘Especially for the 20th series of The Block, which is so important.’

As per Realestate.com.au’s report, the submission to Hepburn Shire Council for The Block 2025 outlines the construction of five initial residences intended as a launching pad for contestants.

Participants must finish designing the framework for a five-bedroom layout, which encompasses a home office (study), lounge, and garage.

The properties will also include other lavish amenities including a covered outdoor area and a heated swimming pool.

The documents presented by Group Architects propose that the five homes they plan to construct will be similar, two-story, environmentally friendly structures.

Earlier on, Blockheads were assigned to refurbish pre-existing properties. For this year’s season, they are working on houses that were transported to the Gisborne location instead.

Overjoyed and brimming with excitement, I can’t help but share my elation! Finally, in the chilly December air, our application was given the green light by the gracious Victorian Planning Minister. The dream I’ve held close to my heart for so long is now a reality – Hygge Property’s magnificent 2,000sqm plot of land will soon be home to no less than five dwellings! It feels like a dream come true, and I can hardly wait to see the transformation unfold.

Nestled within the picturesque Macedon Ranges region of Victoria, Daylesford boasts an exceptional blend of scenic allure, historical appeal, and a thriving local scene.

According to Will Walton, the main director of Belle Property Daylesford (who recently sold the property to Nine), ‘Daylesford stands out from other destinations because it doesn’t rely on typical tourist attractions like sun, sand, or snow to bring visitors.’

Our city is known for its exceptional dining scene, boasting top-tier, award-winning eateries that have earned us a reputation as a premier foodie destination.

Emphasizing food and wine experiences significantly boosts our tourism industry, and it also encourages investments in vacation homes.
