Joe Thomas, known for his role in The Inbetweeners, recently shared news about the show’s long-awaited reboot. The revival of the Channel 4 series was first announced last October by the show’s creators, Damon Beesley and Iain Morris.
Now, speaking to The Sun, Thomas, who played Simon, has given some positive news on the reboot.
Thomas explained that the creators of The Inbetweeners originally sold the rights to the show, but they’ve recently repurchased them, meaning they can now create new episodes.

I’m thrilled about a project someone’s working on. I’m not sure exactly what it is, but I know they’re creating something, and I’d love to be involved.
So, that covers everything for now. I’m hoping there’s more to come, as I’ve got some free time! Oh, and I also really enjoy the show The Inbetweeners.

When the reboot was first announced, Thomas expressed his enthusiasm, but also cautioned that the characters might have changed significantly over time.
Wisdom isn’t usually very interesting to read about in stories. The TV show The Inbetweeners features characters who are largely out of touch with reality.
The show centers around characters living in their own worlds. Simon is hopeful and believes in grand romance, while Will acts superior but is actually misguided. Neil isn’t very bright, and Jay is completely out of touch with reality – he projects an image of confidence but is secretly insecure and fragile.
As you get older, you tend to lose your illusions and see things more realistically, he explained. This leads to avoiding unnecessary trouble, although the stakes also get higher, and the consequences of errors can be more significant as you age.

The Inbetweeners first aired in 2008 on Channel 4, lasting for three seasons and spawning two films.
So, the show’s getting rebooted! Apparently, the guys who made it, Beesley and Iain Morris at Fudge Park, teamed up with Banijay UK. They’re saying this deal is what’s finally making the comeback happen – really excited to see it!
The pair announced the news with a statement, saying they were thrilled to be planning more adventures for their four beloved friends.
The show featured a talented cast including Thomas, Simon Bird as Will, Blake Harrison as Neil, and James Buckley as Jay.
Seasons 1-3 of The Inbetweeners are available to stream on 4.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant 100-page magazine dedicated to Taylor Swift, is now available! You can purchase it at newsstands or online for only £8.99.
