A reboot of the popular British comedy *The Inbetweeners* is happening! This week, creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris announced the news, explaining that their company, Fudge Park, has teamed up with Banijay UK to bring the show back.
The pair shared an enthusiastic statement, saying they’re thrilled to be planning new stories for their beloved group of four friends.
First shown in 2008, the British sitcom *The Inbetweeners* quickly became a national favorite and a cultural hit. Its funny and realistic depiction of teenage life led to three seasons and two movies.

Joe Thomas, Simon Bird, Blake Harrison, and James Buckley became internationally famous for their roles as Simon, Will, Neil, and Jay, a group of teenagers in a suburban setting.
Following the news of the show’s revival, Thomas, likely to return as Simon, shared with The Sun that he has a strong connection with everyone involved and genuinely enjoys working with them. He added that he’d be very interested in participating if the chance arose, but couldn’t say more at this time.

Thomas has hinted that the upcoming version of *The Inbetweeners* will be a bit different, as the characters are now adults. He explained that stories generally aren’t improved by characters becoming wise, and that the show thrives on its characters being somewhat out of touch with reality.
The show centers around characters living in their own worlds. Simon is hopeful and believes in a perfect romance, while Will acts superior but is actually misguided. Neil isn’t very bright, and Jay is completely out of touch with reality – he projects a confident image but is secretly insecure and fragile.

He explained that as you age, you tend to lose unrealistic beliefs and see things more clearly. This leads to avoiding silly problems, though the stakes get higher and the potential for bigger errors increases with age.
While specific details are still scarce, Jonathan Blyth, from Fudge Park, has confirmed that a return of *The Inbetweeners* is happening. He said it’s great news for fans and that more information will be released soon.
Seasons 1-3 of The Inbetweeners are available to stream on 4.
