The illegal act Jackie ‘O’ Henderson is willing to do amid major nationwide crackdown
On a startling revelation, Jackie ‘O’ Henderson confessed her strong inclination towards menthol cigarettes during a radio broadcast on Wednesday.
During a conversation with her fellow host Kyle Sandilands, the radio personality aged 50 brought up the significant federal tax on tobacco and expressed worries about the expanding illegal market for it. They then reached out to New South Wales Premier Chris Minns to talk more about this issue.
45-year-old Mr. Minns informed the show’s hosts that a negative consequence of the federal tax on tobacco is the surge in an underground market, where these items are sold at substantially reduced prices due to avoidance of the high taxes.
He stated, “I strongly dislike this situation because it seems law-abiding citizens are being pulled into the underground economy.
They visit the store and tend to opt for an illicit pack of cigarettes costing $20, or a legitimate one priced at $60. To them, it seems like an obvious choice.

Later on, Jackie confessed an unexpected truth – she was thinking about buying cigarettes illegally because of the prohibition on menthol-flavored tobacco.
She said to Mr. Minns, “Since they’ve banned menthols, I find myself forced to turn towards the black market.
Afterward, Mr. Minns suggested that Jackie should always abide by the law when buying tobacco goods. He also mentioned that it is illegal to peddle cigarettes on the black market, but purchasing them is not a criminal offense.
Ahead of the NSW budget scheduled for June 24, Ms. [Name] made an unexpected disclosure. Regarding this matter, Mr. Minns stated that it’s crucial to make a choice regarding the allocation of resources aimed at curbing illegal tobacco trading.
Instead of focusing on domestic violence, youth crime, and gang cases, it might involve redirecting law enforcement resources towards monitoring and controlling tobacco sales instead.
He expressed his concern, both as a constituent and a parent, to journalists on Monday, stating that it might be necessary due to his worries about the increasing number of high street stores being acquired by tobacco companies.
I’m curious if we should reconsider our current approach and take a closer look at the high taxes imposed by the federal government on tobacco products.
In the latest population health survey for New South Wales, it appears that excise taxes have significantly reduced the number of adult smokers to approximately one out of every nine individuals.

He pointed out that individuals who typically avoid illegal activities often purchase black-market tobacco nearly every day,” he explained.
He called for the size of the excise and its influence on illicit tobacco sales to be investigated.
Earlier on The Kyle and Jackie O Show in October, Jackie openly discussed her own struggle with addiction.
Struggling to hold back her emotions, Jackie revealed that she sought treatment at the Betty Ford Clinic in California during November 2022. This extended absence from The Kyle and Jackie O Show, which she had earlier attributed to lingering effects of COVID-19, was actually for rehabilitation purposes.
As a die-hard admirer who’s always been captivated by the glitz and glamour of Tinseltown, I can’t help but share my fascination with Betty Ford – a name synonymous with Hollywood royalty. A veritable VIP sanctuary, this esteemed center has welcomed stars like Keith Urban, Robert Downey Jr., and Lindsay Lohan into its hallowed halls. And
Jackie shared on air that it was her good friend Gemma who played a crucial role in helping Jackie seek treatment at the rehabilitation center.
The presenter reminisced: ‘Things reached a critical point, and Gemma was an amazing friend. She told Jackie, “I’m sorry, but you won’t be able to gradually reduce this, it just won’t work. I’m arranging for you to go into rehab at the end of the week, and we’ll do it together.”‘
I told Gemma, ‘That’s excessive, it’s not necessary for you to do all that. My issues aren’t severe enough to require a visit to Betty Ford Center.’

Jackie acknowledged, “She refused, but we were determined to proceed and she acted upon it. I truly feel she may have spared my life, for which I am grateful.
She mentioned that they managed to secure a late-night departure from Australia, hopped aboard just in the nick of time to stay unnoticed, and then swiftly flew to Los Angeles. While there, Gemma spent two days with her host before admitting herself into the Betty Ford Clinic.
At that point in time, Kyle, who didn’t know about Jackie’s drug problem, informed his audience that Jackie was taking some time off for ‘improving her health’ following a Covid infection.
Instead, she was covertly transported from Australia for a 28-day treatment at a renowned rehabilitation center, dealing with addictions to painkillers, sleeping pills, and alcohol.
