The House of the Dead 2: Remake Announced for Spring 2025 Release

Back in 1998, I found myself captivated by the thrilling arcade game, The House of the Dead 2 – an enduring masterpiece in the lightgun shooter genre. Just like its predecessor, The House of the Dead 1, which received a modern update in 2022, this sequel is poised to receive its own revamp in 2023.

In “The House of the Dead 2: Remake,” you’ll have the opportunity to assume the roles of secret agents James Taylor and/or Gary Stewart. You can choose to embark on this perilous journey solo or join forces with another player in a 2-player cooperative mode, battling waves of terrifying undead creatures.

This new version offers enhanced graphics, reworked soundtracks (including an option for the original soundtrack), various conclusions based on different storylines, numerous play modes, and gameplay similar to the original game.

I’d contend that the gameplay doesn’t truly emulate the original because it lacks support for a lightgun. Regardless, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the traditional campaign, engage in Boss Mode, or improve your aim in the Training Mode.
