Jamie Kah and fellow racing star Ben Melham have married in a stunning rural ceremony.
On Sunday, they exchanged vows at The Homestead, situated within the Surf Coast Shire of Victoria, specifically in Gnarwarre’s picturesque Rosemont Estate.
On Monday, pictures and videos posted on social media showed Jamie looking stunning in a fitted, white halter dress with a brief train, hugging her silhouette beautifully.
I’ve added a delicate veil to my timeless bun hairstyle, letting the sheer fabric cascade gently behind me, creating a touch of romance in my look.
At her wedding, Jamie adorned herself with a sparkling hair accessory and completed the look with long pearl earrings hanging from her ears.
For makeup, she opted for a subtle, peach-toned collection, featuring a gentle pink lipstick, while keeping most of her golden hair away from her face, except for a few stray strands.
Meanwhile, the groom looked sharp wearing a coordinated three-piece beige outfit consisting of a vest, jacket, and pants.
He completed the outfit by adding a brown silk tie, fastening a dusty pink rose on his lapel, and polishing it off with deep brown leather shoes.
The couple remarked to Race Net, “Yesterday was exceptional among our memorable days.
‘The best day of our lives together, shared with some incredible people.’
At an enchanting open-air reception, a violinist played melodious tunes for the guests seated at tables adorned with white trimmings under the sky.
Visitors enjoyed an array of offerings at the outdoor venue, including oysters, a variety of pastas from a self-service station, an assortment of cocktails, and champagne.
At the event, television personality Jason Richardson served as the master of ceremonies, and Melbourne Cup jockey Robbie Dolan had the honor of playing the initial dance song for the couple.
Visitors danced late into the evening, as the soft melodies of a cellist and violinist eventually transitioned to the energetic beats spun by DJ Claudia Allegro.
At a certain point, the gathering harmonized with the newlyweds on a lively, unplugged rendition of Daryl Braithwaite’s famous tune, “The Horses.
On a Monday, the Melhams titled their Instagram posts from their special day as “Mr. and Mrs. Melham, January 19, 2025.
The pair had announced their engagement on the most romantic day of the year.
Last Valentine’s Day, I enthusiastically announced my wonderful news by posting a picture of my stunning diamond ring, snuggled close to my partner, Melham.
Another image displayed the affectionate pair, hand-in-hand, seated side by side, with a gleaming engagement ring prominently visible in the captioned description of hers as the “wonderful day”.
From day one, you’ve stood by me through thick and thin. Here’s to a lifetime together, @benmelhem,” she expressed.
The last scene showed a top-shelf Penfolds Grange wine bottle, flanked by two prepared glasses on both sides, ready for a celebratory toast.
On Twitter, The Sporting Base swiftly sent out their congratulatory messages, while Instagram users also posted warm wishes in the comment section.
Australian Olympic eventing rider Amanda Ross exclaimed, “Wow, fantastic news! It’s as if you two were made for each other!
‘I cannot tell u both how happy i am for u congrats 1000 times,’ another friend commented.
Kah experienced quite a dynamic year, culminating in a 10-race penalty due to reckless horseback riding.
It comes after a horror fall at Flemington in April, 2023.
In the same event, both Kah and Craig Williams, a prominent Australian jockey, were unseated from their mounts.
In the race, Kah’s horse Flyball stumbled as it stepped on Veight’s heels, the eventual victor, resulting in a fall onto the grass for her.
Both Kah and Williams were hospitalised.
As I lay there, I found myself unconscious after a hard knock. Miraculously, no serious brain trauma or skull fractures were detected in my case; thankfully, the situation could have been much worse.
She went on a break from racing for five months, then returned triumphantly by winning twice at the Victoria Derby, which was part of the Spring Melbourne Cup festival, in November 2023.
She concluded the carnival with six victories, more than double any other jockey’s tally.
That same year in December, the Victorian Racing Tribunal found Kah innocent following allegations made six months prior, based on photos suggesting she had white powder at a social event.
Last week, Kah honored Melham for his assistance throughout her recuperation following the fall, as well as during the examination of the white powder scandal.
She expressed that her friends, family, and partner Ben have been incredible, yet she feels her primary source of support has come from the horses she keeps at home.
‘Number one was the horses in getting through a rough period.’
Previously, Kah was set to marry another jockey-turned-trainer named Clayton Douglas, whereas Melham shares three kids with his longtime companion, Karlie Dales.
