The Grand Tour star Richard Hammond has failed a driving test… well, not exactly a real one.

In a fascinating turn of events, the well-known car presenter was invited to participate in a challenge, this time with his daughter Izzy, as part of their exciting series on YouTube’s DriveTribe platform.

Nevertheless, during the ultimate evaluation, driving instructor and social media sensation Aman Sanghera acknowledged that neither of them met expectations – however, this doesn’t impact his driving license since the test was staged.

She informed them, “Regrettably, neither of you passed the driving test.

Contrarily, it brought Richard some comfort to learn that he was considered the superior driver compared to his daughter.

“Happy Christmas me!” he joked, before Aman explained where they both went wrong.

In a surprising turn of events, she disclosed that it was the parallel parking area that clinched the decision for her. While Izzy seemed oblivious to her blind spots, Richard was diligent in ensuring they were clear.

As I recounted to Richard, my oversight was failing to check my blind spots while maneuvering in reverse during parallel parking. However, had it not been for that particular challenge, I might have still aced the exam… unfortunately, Izzy also fell short.

“I was disappointed when I learned, and now I nearly passed a driving test,” he joked.

Hammond, along with co-hosts Jeremy Clarkson and James May, bid farewell to “The Grand Tour” in September, as the Prime Video series is preparing to move forward with fresh faces at the helm.

Regarding the future of the show, he stated to Metro last year: “It’s not over yet. The Grand Tour lives on. As hosts, we are moving aside, but Prime will keep it going. I can hardly wait to take my seat and enjoy watching someone else take the reins. That’s fantastic!
