Barry ‘The Bear’ Myrden is ready to sweep the ladies off their feet on The Golden Bachelor.
Just before the show began, the distinguished gentleman captivated radio personality Kate Ritchie, who is 47 years old.
During a radio interview on Nova 96.9’s Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie, the 61-year-old openly flirted with the hosts.
The playful banter started when Michael Wipfli, Kate’s co-host, jokingly hinted she was hoping to find a partner.
‘Well, maybe Bear, if you didn’t find love on the show, we could organise something?’ Wippa said.
Kate was having none of it and tried to shut down the conversation.

She stated she preferred to handle things herself. Then, unexpectedly, Barry revealed his feelings by wistfully saying, ‘I wish I had a rose.’
Kate dismissed the cheeky reality star with a laugh and said, ‘It’s gonna take more than a rose.’
Barry confessed to feeling anxious after meeting the first contestants, and said the whole experience of being on the show felt unreal.
He surprisingly admitted he was comfortable being intimate with his dates while filming.
He said he was relaxed about the on-screen kiss, explaining that he simply ignored the cameras and focused on the scene itself – he was lost in the moment.
I was so excited to see Sam Armytage, the host of The Golden Bachelor, on the show! They even asked her if *she* would ever consider being the Golden Bachelorette, if they created that role – and honestly, I’m dying to know what she thinks! It’s such a fun idea, and I’d love to see her find love too.
‘Well, I don’t know if I’d be brave enough,’ she said.
‘And hearing Bear say he’s happy to make out on camera, which he was, I don’t know if I could!’

Sam said she was ‘quite shy’ but Kate was not convinced.
Kate said to Sam, ‘I’ll admit, you’re good at playing innocent!’
Elsewhere in the segment, Barry revealed that behind-the-scenes the ladies enjoyed a good time.
He said with a laugh that some neighbors had apparently complained about noise at 3 a.m.
In March, Barry was seen filming for a reality show, driving a classic Italian speedboat on Sydney Harbour and then meeting the contestants vying for his affection.
One of the contestants is Bianca Dye, a well-known TV and radio host with a long career in broadcasting. She’s currently co-hosting a morning show on Sea FM 90.9 in Queensland.
Lauren George, a contestant from Queensland, is also thought to be competing. She was spotted arriving at the filming location with hair rollers still in and wearing a full face of makeup.
The latest season of the dating show aims for a more genuine and emotional connection, with host Barry sharing his own experiences with love and heartbreak.
‘He’s not your usual reality TV type,’ an insider said.
He’s a captivating and thoughtful man who’s experienced a lot in life. He’s known both joy and hardship, and now he’s eager to find love again. He’s sure to be a hit with women.
The American show ‘The Golden Bachelor’ has been incredibly popular, and viewers in Australia have been eagerly asking for their own version since it first aired.
The Golden Bachelor premieres Monday at 7.30pm on Channel Nine
