Before the first finale of The Golden Bachelor aired, Barry Myrden, known as ‘Bear,’ tried to stay out of the spotlight.
The show’s star arrived at Sydney Airport with host Samantha Armytage, getting ready to fly to South Africa to film the dramatic final episodes.
After sparking dating rumors at the Logies earlier this year, the two tried to avoid photographers as they went through the airport and checked in for their flight.
I have to say, Bear looked amazing for his trip! He had on this breezy blue button-down with little palm trees all over it, and he left it open just enough to show a hint of skin. It was the perfect travel look – relaxed but still stylish.
The 61-year-old completed his outfit with chinos, sneakers, and sunglasses, hoping to avoid being recognized.
Samantha, his co-star, wore a comfortable and casual outfit while checking her luggage at the airport.

The 49-year-old layered a cargo bomber jacket over a simple white t-shirt with a pair of jeans.
She put on sunglasses and chose comfortable sneakers, completing her relaxed yet stylish look.
Samantha styled her long, blonde hair in loose waves and wore minimal makeup for her travel day.
The Nine carried a black duffel bag and a garment bag from Velani Couture, suggesting she had a stunning outfit planned for the show’s finale.
A contestant on Sunday night’s episode of The Golden Bachelor was devastated when Bear didn’t choose her after what had seemed like a perfect date.
Jan Herdman, a 66-year-old transformation coach, received a special invitation from the Golden Bachelor to join him for a romantic evening at the Sydney Opera House. They attended a ballet performance and then shared a personal conversation about their past relationships.
Let me tell you, witnessing genuine connection is always heartwarming! I recently heard about a beautiful moment between Jan and Bear – they shared a private ballet performance, just the two of them, and it was so sweet to see them cuddling and enjoying the art together. Afterwards, Jan really opened up to Bear, and he was clearly a fantastic listener and offered her a lot of support. It’s those intimate, understanding moments that truly make a difference, don’t you think?
Jan tearfully explained to Bear that she’d been single for a long time after a painful experience with a partner who cheated and couldn’t accept that he couldn’t have a relationship with both her and another woman.

“Wow, that sounds really hard,” Bear said, as they cuddled together on the couch. Jan later shared with the show’s producers that she felt a genuine connection with him.
‘I believe we had a connection and I’m hoping we can build on that,’ an excited Jan told producers.
Jan didn’t receive a strong enough connection with Bear; he felt a deeper connection with three other women, and she was ultimately eliminated from the show.
Bear confessed he felt a closer bond with Sunny, Kim, and Janette, which unfortunately left Jan feeling hurt.
“I’m really struggling with this, but I loved every minute of the ballet and throwing myself into everything,” Bear said to a heartbroken Jan as he bid her farewell.
Jan shared that she had hoped for a rose and to keep moving forward in the competition. However, she also expressed pride in having allowed herself to be open and vulnerable throughout the process.
‘It’s been a growing process for me. I definitely deserve love and I know that.’
