As a lifestyle expert, I have to say, it was such a sweet moment watching Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden, Australia’s very first Golden Bachelor, give his heart to Sunny! The grand finale on Sunday night was truly epic – it was lovely to see him find a connection with the Sydney-based CEO.
He proposed with a large diamond ring, putting it on her finger while they were in beautiful Cape Town, South Africa, with mountains in the background.
Jeweler Kosta Theochari from MDT Design has revealed details about a large diamond ring, including its potential price.
The engagement ring features a diamond estimated to be between 1.2 and 1.5 carats. It’s set in a classic six-prong solitaire with a delicate band, which makes the diamond appear larger.
But the band, says Kosta, is not forever.
While a delicate ring with a prominent setting can be beautiful, Kosta explains that it won’t be as durable as a ring with a thicker band.
As for the price tag on the stunning ring, it could range depending on its source.
He estimated the price of the ring with the lab-grown diamond would be between $3,200 and $3,800.
‘If it’s a natural diamond, pricing could be in the range of $16,000 and upwards.’
The Golden Bachelor chose his final lady in a finale episode of the dating series on Sunday night.
After a romantic getaway to South Africa, Bear chose Sunny, a 58-year-old CEO from New South Wales, over Janette, a 61-year-old Pilates instructor from Victoria.

The engineer, 61, and his ladylove have met up in a series of spicy Airbnb dates.
Sunny told Woman’s Day that they held a few clandestine meetings at Airbnbs, arriving at staggered times and quickly going inside.
“We weren’t allowed near the windows,” she said, turning to Bear. “Didn’t you call it a bit of harmless fun, a little adventure?”
‘You know, it was a bit, he’s Mr Bond and I’m his Bond girl.’
In a shock confession, Bear even hinted that marriage may be in their future.
He told the publication they had a lot to talk about, specifically regarding a potential engagement.
Sunny said the two people involved clearly have strong feelings for each other, but they’re choosing to move forward cautiously at the moment.
She explained that they both want their relationship to develop naturally, and they plan to take things slowly.
