Lourna Dee, a survivor not a hero, sounds like an intriguing character to me. Her past as a Tempest Runner and her evasion from both the Nihil and the Republic has got me hooked already.

Author Cavan Scott expressed his eagerness on various social platforms like Bluesky about an upcoming unveiling. The teaser text is available on the website of his publisher, Penguin Random House UK.
Lourna Dee isn’t a bad guy or a good one; she’s simply a survivor. Once known as a Tempest Runner and currently sought by both her Nihil allies and the Republic, Lourna has managed to dodge imprisonment and death from both parties on numerous occasions. However, there is an enigmatic plague that threatens everything it touches, and even Lourna can’t outrun it forever. Moreover, Marchion Ro, the Nihil’s leader, claims to possess the knowledge necessary to halt this destructive force.
In a state of urgency, the Republic and Jedi approached Lourna with a proposition: assist the Jedi in halting the plague, and in exchange, Lourna would be granted a fresh start and the power to shape her destiny.
Alongside Avar Kriss and Keeve Trennis, the very Jedi who once pursued her, Lourna now spearheads the mission to locate Baron Boolan, a key figure whose insights might unravel the enigma of the blight and reveal Marchion Ro’s hidden intentions.
Lourna ponders the Republic’s promise of genuine liberty versus her survival intuition as her group ventures further into Nihil territory, right towards the perils Lourna has spent years avoiding. If given the chance, she might risk it all to confront Marchion Ro personally, seeking revenge that burns within Lourna Dee.
