The First Stand 2026: Brazil

Eight years have passed since Brazil last hosted an international League of Legends competition. Back in 2017, the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) took place in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. In a thrilling match, the team once known as SK Telecom T1, now simply called T1, emerged victorious against the European squad, G2 Esports, with a score of 3-1.

2022 stood out among Brazilian sports enthusiasts due to Ronaldo Fenômeno, a highly acclaimed Brazilian football legend, presenting a medal to Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok. In that championship, Lee “Wolf” Jae-wan, now a retired esports player and streamer for T1, was crowned MVP.

The First Stand to enter Southeast Asia

The upcoming third installment of “The First Stand” tournament is scheduled to take place in Southeast Asia; however, the specific venue remains undisclosed at this time. Interestingly, it’s worth noting that a single South Asian nation has previously hosted an international League of Legends event. The Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) 2019 spanned across Vietnam, Taiwan, and three cities: Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi, and Taipei.
