The original Moana was a huge success for Disney, and everyone expected it to lead to more films. Given Disney’s history of making live-action versions of their animated movies, a Moana remake seemed inevitable, but fans were surprised when it was announced so quickly.

One of the most intriguing aspects of the new Moana trailer is what it doesn’t show. While Dwayne Johnson is playing Maui again, we don’t get a clear look at him. We see glimpses of Maui as different animals and a shot of his physique, but his face remains hidden.
The marketing team is likely holding back some details to build anticipation, and because the general storyline is already known, they’re planning to reveal Maui later on.
